Being in France during these Euros was an amazing experience. We love to shit on our players but they did us proud. The fans were absolutely fantastic and extremely well behaved. In all three games I did not see a single drunk Albanian fan, and drunk fans were everywhere. We even had piss drunk Belgian fans in our fan section cheering for us
Everywhere we went fans of other teams were full of admiration of our performances. This was an image changing event for our people and our country. We focus too much on the football side of things but this tournament was way more than that. I played soccer at the JFK airport with Albanians from Kosova, partied in St Tropez with Albanians from Germany, ran into random Albanian fans all over South France, shared a cab with a professor and his son from Tirana, ate a paçe served by a waiter from Kavaja in Lyon, took the bus with a family from Struga, sang Xhamadani vija vija on the Lyon tram, and experienced countless other things that made the experience so much more enjoyable. This was not just about football for the thousands who travelled there. I guaranteed you no one who travelled to France left disappointed.
