Well in order to do that you need to drop one level down to League D. Imagine playing the likes of San Marino, Andorra, and Gibraltar the next time around. I rather come last in a group with Russia, Turkey and Serbia than win the group in League D. Also the format might change next time around.

Honestly that’s why I couldn’t care less about the results in this group. More disappointed in the coach and performances of these so called talents.

At this point, we must not get too high or too low on Broja.. he didn’t have a great match but it’s his first season playing professional football and he’s definitely our best young (attacking) prospect. He has shown glimpses of potential and possesses some good all around attributes like height, pace and skill, which cannot be denied. Physically, he is weak but it’s reasonable to believe that improves with time, given his age. Overall, Broja is the least of our problems and if anything, he is one of the lone bright spots for the NT.

Being without Roshi, and even Cikalleshi to some extent, will normally be a big blow for us offensively. While the former is the primary catalyst for our attack, there is no doubt that the latter is our best striker at the moment, having been on a recent hot streak and scoring 5 goals in his last 7 international matches. It is foolish to believe that these men can be easily replaced by some boys on the u21 and it will be a sad day when they hang it up in the near future.

I'd rather not fake qualify. And I think we have a chance at a WC seed if we finish first.

At least with World Cup you only get a chance to play in the actual playoffs.

Do we even want to win our division? Wouldn't it be best for us to not get promoted so we can have an easy chance to qualify for next Euros?

One is a player who just turned 19 with 4 professional appearances while the other is a 30 year old striker who scored 8 goals in the Turkish first division last year (aka on the same level as Seferi)

I'd rather use these remaining qualifying matches to experiment with new players and tactics to get us ready for the next qualifiers.

As for Reja he needs to be sacked. Way too many questionable lineup choices that anyone with a brain would get right. He doesn't understand the concept of having wingbacks that can provide width which is the most crucial part of a 3-5-2.
Cikalleshi is not good enough for a team that wants to finish 1st or 2nd, but he's more than good enough for League C.

(1) We have a freaking CB as a wingback. Even some fullbacks have trouble adjusting to wingback position because it's a lot higher up the pitch, and is a lot more demanding offensively.

(2) We're playing with two central strikers who need service to score, and can't create their own shots.

(3) Playing amateurs like Laci in central midfield. Also, I love Abrashi's energy and effort but he has to be paired with good passers.

On player selection, Kallaku is the best on-the ball player we have, and that's not debatable at all. To me it was a crime that Kace never played, even though the biggest team we ever beat (France) was due to his goal and him starting.

We used Kace's height as an excuse. Kallaku is 6 feet tall. He might not be buff, but stature is not a problem anymore. No more excuses. The guy's set pieces are also way better than Bare's. He can score direct free kicks.
I do agree with Laci being a scrub. I don't even know what he's good at. I think if we don't have proper wingbacks you can't play in a 3-5-2. Wingbacks need to provide width to give the midfield some space and to provide some threat from the flanks. It's why every game looks like a damn rugby match because everything is so compact.

Aurora Bulkualis wrote: Wed Oct 14, 2020 8:40 pm Broja is fine. He just turned 19 in September and these 2 games were his pro debut as a starter. It's not like he's missing sitters. He's just getting no service.

Cikalleshi is the main striker for now though.
He's not missing sitters because he doesn't get in positions to have sitters. His movement is bad and loses most duels with defenders. Today he committed a million fouls because they were owning him like a little bitch.

You know a player is terrible when the #1 excuse of him is his age. If age is the problem maybe he should be in the u21 and not the senior team.

Cikalleshi, Hysaj, Roshi and hell even Sadiku.. I'm scared to say Balaj.. we are being delusional if we think these young players can replace them anytime soon(at least).

Albania needs to hit the jackpot in midfield/attack like it hit with Kumbulla and previously Hysaj on defense. Players who can dominate bad competition are needed.
We could barely put 3 passes together in the final third. That's a systemic failure.
