While the criticism against Asani is somewhat warranted how can you call that a favoritism callup? Dude literally carried us during the qualifiers and was one of our top 3 players in several games.

It's favoritism because he's getting rewarded for past events not because of what he is right now and his potential of helping the team.

Last time Asani kicked a ball was in early October of 2023. His own coach publicly criticized his fitness levels. What is a player like that going to do against Italy, Spain, and Croatia??

It's very unprofessional by Sylvinho to call him up but what's worse is that no Albanian outlet mentions it. They are more worried about their friend Cikalleshi because it hurt his feelings.

I don't like the decision to leave Uzuni unless it was because his injury will cause problems for him to play.

Even ignoring goals since he doesn't score many with us he has speed and movement which is enough to help the team against good sides, particularly off the bench where he can run against tired legs.`

He's also had a lot of bad luck with us and really could have scored many more goals. I think if we took him he would score one and he's proven to be a top flight level player.

Other than that it's hard to argue with leaving Cika behind even though it's sad on an emotional level. He isn't better than any of the attackers called up and he probably understands that himself.

A few fluke goals in qualifiers don't change that because those professionals he will go up against won't give him that space since they know he has scored goals like that. He's a 1 trick pony so he won't do anything else.

He's 100% a favoritism callup. Because he scored those goals in qualifiers nothing more.

If we're honest, Manaj is a favoritism callup too but Sylvinho has the club goals excuse so it's hard to blame him for that.

What Sylvinho has done completely blows that out the water!

26 man list yet he drops an all time scorer who has started every match until we clinched, and one our biggest success stories who went from 2nd Albanian league to tearing up La Liga (and every other league he played in until now). Uzuni scored at Spain last time out and at times, he has been one of our best players!

Who did he drop them for?

Random guys with minimal contribution like Arber Hoxha, Medon Berisha, etc. Then to rub salt in the wound, he has the nerve to say he wanted Arbnor Mucolli there too but he was injured. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Very harsh, very ruthless, unbelievable for me!

That being said, full respect to our coach Sylvinho for his accomplishments. The decisions are his to make and he has earned our trust. I hope the β€œnew” additions will turn out to be impact players for us going forward!

Let’s go Albania!
Hoxha and Mucolli performed well. Cika has been terrible for us for the last 2 years. Almost no contribution at all in the qualifiers. Dude cannot even win an aerial duel against someone a head shorter than him.

Not going to lie it is funny watching the meltdown of all these journalist and analysts over Cikalleshi not being included in the Euros. Calling it one the biggest injustices they have ever seen lol. Sylvinho is icecold respect; that means Daku or Broja will be our main striker with Manaj probably being our 3rd striker after Daku and Broja.

What's even more funny than these guys crying over Cikalleshi is that in the last Euros Cikalleshi lost his spot to Sadiku before the tournament began and only played for 15 minutes for the entire tournament. He played the last 15 minutes in the first match against the Swiss and was benched for the other 2 games which goes to show how quickly you can loose your spot.

Uzuni manager Franci Bode spoke up against Sylvinho..

How do you justify leaving Uzuni off the list when you are calling up Arber Hoxha, Medon Berisha, Naser Aliji, etc?

Nothing against any of these guys and I hope they will be impact players in the future, but what have they done presently to deserve a spot over Myrto?

Not only that, but then you come out and say Mucolli would have been here too if not for injury. Talking like this is completely insensitive and even offensive!

One thing is for sure.. Sylvinho is cold! Man has brought a whole new mentality to this team! We can now truly say that nobody’s spot is safe!

Full respect to him for his accomplishments and wishing the best of luck in Germany!

Sylvinho said clearly in his press conference that current form does not mean everything to him and his team. He values those who can give a good performance with the NT, regardless of minutes played for club.

Asani is favoured for his left foot on the right wing..

Respect to Cikalleshi for retiring. Maybe 4-5 years too late but better late than never. At least he didn't drag it like others have done it in the past.

As for the criticism Sylvinho is getting by journalists, it's a shame but it was expected. Albanians (journalists in this case) care more about their friends making it than what's best for the team. But maybe they don't understand what's best for the team. Probably a combination of both.

Sylvinho is not perfect himself because he shows favoritism to Asani who hasn't played in 2 years and is not even a professional player but for the most part that list makes a lot of sense... especially considering the opponents.

Cikalleshi was not gonna play a single minute and is worse than the 3 STs in the squad. Let it go
