He's definitely to blame but the clubs themselves are so poorly mismanaged and corrupt that it all can't be attributed to Duka. The Tirana teams which represents like half of the countries population are complete trash and constantly get embarrassed in Europe. All the Albanian teams are short sighted and turn their entire roster and staff off every single year. All of these teams have issues with honoring contracts. They don't invest in youth set ups. They sign over priced foreign players. They don't invest in their infrastructure. They sell their best players before the European competition starts for peanuts. These owners just use their teams as a way to funnel money and they don't care about the results.

It still boggles my mind how a team like Partizani or Tirana hasn't had a monopoly in the league yet is insane. A village team like KF Ballkani has done more and produced more players that both Tirana teams have done in the past 20 years which is crazy.

At least he is honest unlike the others and with only an Albanian mother it was obvious but at least he doesn't pretend he is patriotic and the FA is in the wrong, tells it like it is and I respect him for that.

It's hilarious that players that started playing under communism were much better developed than players today. Bogdani, Tare, Skela, etc. would love some of these players atm.

That is the problem though. We are relying on luck, some random diaspora player coming up. There is no clear strategy on youth player development. At least on the left side we got really lucky with Mitaj. But even there, if he is out, we get Naser Aliji
When you can't produce any domestic players we have to be reliant on diaspora. Literally any professional player in the diaspora has a chance with the Albanian NT due to how bad player development is in Albania. Albania has to be the worst in the region in player development (maybe Montenegro is worst) and even Kosovo produces twice the players Albania does and they've only been recognized by FIFA for like 8 years now.

I mean that’s exactly the problem, calling up a 29 year old argentinian who has no links to albania , it’s a joke.

if you’re gonna do that call up Marku or someone younger at least, just shows how poor we are at developing players and relying on diaspora- I wonder what they’re gonna do when the next generation grow up abroad and don’t feel any links to Albania.

At least Duka gets his television and money through 👍🏼

Gruda would start for Albania, no doubt. Germany will soon lock him up though as they're in dire need of talented forwards.
I don't think Germany is in "dire need" of anything. If they cap him, he will end up like Januzaj with Belgium.
Might end just like Januzaj, but he doesn't seem to mind it. I watched Germany vs Portugal in NL and they seem so far behind the likes of Portugal, Spain, France and England regarding talented forwards.
