Unfortunately, what's best for your development/career is not what's best for you financially. Can't say I blame him because I think most players would do the same. Add another player to the failed golden generation of Albania that could have been special (Broja, Asllani, Kumbulla, Mitaj, Muci, Bajrami, etc)
Broja and Kumbulla got very unlucky with horrible injuries, hardly anyone comes fully back in football after tearing their ACL. The others have made bad career choices, but their still very young and can turn their careers around.

Mitaj just turned 22. He's got plenty of time. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise for him, because he needs to go back to Western Europe.

Mitaj wasn't even called up to the squad by Laurent Blanc before he got fired. He's not doing great there.

It's a bad league for him though. While he needs to be playing in high rhythm/intensity he's stuck in a situation with pensioners who don't want to run or try hard.

Al Ittihad need to work on their conditioning..

Al Ittihad is known for their offensive output so I was counting on them to score in front of their home fans (especially after going down a goal in the first half).

After the 70th minute, they could hardly get up and down the pitch.

Just rolled over and accepted defeat..

Mitaj was mediocre got subbed off late..

Can't even hate on the Kazakh league when you see Kairat qualify to the Champions league by eliminating Celtic. And FC Astana is considered the better team out of the two.

Might as well give him a chance, I don't think he's worse than Bajrami and Muçi.

Arber Hoxha on fire
Berisha with a nice assist

as for Gripshi , idk man, that’s such a bad league and he plays for the best team but looking at his goals and they are quality finishes .

Yes you can see it when he pulls out of fully committing into a challenge, it’s a mental thing.

I watched the game, it wasn’t as bad as people are making it out to be, he should’ve scored but decided to take the shot first time on his left foot which I suppose isn’t the worst thing. But then after he got a couple other shots off, but yeah the more he plays , the more confident he will be and hopefully that’s when some goals start coming in.

He hasn’t had a full season of football in 3/4 years now, because we have no one else like him expecting him to be the guy who scored vs Hungary isn’t realistic. Gotta give him this year to get back into it.

The “checked out” comments are just straight crazy though.
