Hmm, I don't think a "catch bubble gum song" has actually won since Lena from Germany (possibly the worst winner). In either case, I don't think Lindita and Elhaida are even on a similar level when it comes to singing ability, and I also thought Lindita's song was all over the place with its chaotic rhythm changes.
The last Eurovision I watched live was when "Euphoria" from Sweden won it. It became clear within 15-20 seconds that song was going to win. You need catchy energetic songs for the contest.
Also Lena's live performance was pretty terrible, but I think the quality of songwriting is much important than the quality of the singer. Elhaida is probably a better singer, but the songs are too lackluster in energy.
