I think Aurora is equally harsh on both Albania and Kosova. He's your typical Albanian pessimist. LedZep on the other hand hates on Kosova, for whatever reason. I just like that every time Rashica scores in BL LedZep's heart starts racing like crazy :)

Tbh Rashica is just triggering in general. Pleased that he's doing well but the Euro 2016 thing was just annoying for everyone. Especially considering he still does the eagle as a celebration, when he doesn't play for Albania. Like, you don't get called up for the country you claim to be so passionate about as soon as we qualify for Euros, and then spout some rubbish about how Kosova is your true country. No country is his true country.
I'm honestly more impressed with Celina. Doesn't fill the stat sheet as much but his technique is incredible.

You do understand that Kosovars are Albanians?

And honestly him dropping us in favor was understandable. The guy played in our youth ranks and had a good year in Netherlands scoring 8 goals and 5 assists which is by far than anyone on the NT produced that year. You can make the case that he could have been our best/most talented player that year with the exception of Hysaj and maybe Memushaj. And yet he was never given a chance (and please don't say 30 minutes against Lichenstein in a blow out win is a chance). The attackers that were selected were out of form and playing in bad leagues.

-Gashi - playing in the MLS after not being able to make the cut at Basel
-Lila - a spot start for a village team in Greece
-Lenjani - A bench warmer/subsitute for Nantes
-Balaj - Scored 9 goals in Croatia
-Cikaleshi - Substitute in Turkey
-Roshi - Bench warmer in Croatia
-Sadiku - starter in Switerzland

Those were the players that were called up. You couldn't tell me he deserved to get a place over one of the guys on the list? I get Di Biasi was trying to be loyal but we lost out on a huge talent for our standards because he was being loyal to some scrubs. Notice none of those guys on the list even contribute to the NT any more with the exception of Sadiku.

Why is it pessimism though? Let's be real, even if we could get all Albanians like Shaqiri, Xhaka, Mustafi, would we even be 1 level above a team like Serbia? At best we'd be around their level, and they're a 2nd tier team.

The problem with being the new Belgium or Holland or whatever is that you need a domestic league where at least 1 team is worthy to play in a Top league. Croatia at least has Dinamo Zagreb that can be a bottom/mid table team in La Liga or Serie A. Even in Serbia, you can make the argument Partizan/RS can be a 19/20th placed team in France if not Italy/Spain.

That's why I said at best we can be like a Bosnia, where we hope we could get a Dzeko/Pjanic to carry the team. My hopes went down the drain when Januzaj took a "different" career path thanks to someone. That guy could have carried our team for 10-15 years if it wasn't for his glory hunting moronic father that burned him early.

I agree with you there. It's kinda already happened with us somewhat. We couldn't replace the B level players like Mavraj, Cana, Kukeli (not even a B level), Ajeti (fell off the face of the earth) and Sadiku (he's back but who knows if he'll be the same) in the past couple of years. I'm worried at this past in 3-4 years we'll still be relying on the current core of players because we couldn't find adequate replacements and it'd be 2009 all over again. I think we gotta pray that Partizani and Shkendija make it to Europe and start dominating their respective leagues for years which will give an outlet for Albanian players to European teams.

I really hope the new manager makes an effort to do a rebuild like what Di Biasi did when he first joined back in 2012. Try and recruit players like Vrushaj, Asani, Bajrami, Toma, Muslija, the Argentinian dude, Shabani, Dajaku, even Bardhi & Mala from Partizani, etc. This team has become so complacent and lifeless and I think shake ups are necessary.

Exactly. Couldn’t have said it better.

I've been waiting for that for years tbh. Skenderbeu was supposed to our version of "Dinamo Zagreb", but they were corrupt morons that dismantled the only decent accomplishment to come out of the Albanian league in the last 20 years.

As long as we're diaspora-based, it's hard to keep supplying a deep squad, hence why I said either Kosova or Albania being the "new Bosnia" is much more realistic than the "new Croatia" or "new Belgium". Just hope that 1-2 players will come out to carry the team.

If you look around the world, it's very hard to find a top team without at least 1-2 strong teams domestically. People have their hopes set on Kosova becoming the new big thing but that won't happen until they become competitive domestically. And that's VERY hard to change.

Skenderbeu didn't have a youth academy though. They were doing okay but they were just developing players they bought from other teams and then sold them to other European teams. I don't remember one youth academy player they had that they promoted and became a core player of their team from 2012 to 2018. Maybe Partizani will be different.

Um, I think you completely missed the point.
My point has always been that although we should have capped him, his attitude is poor.
Regarding the point about 'Kosovars are Albanians' isn't that 'nje komb' type of attitude?
What I was saying was never about his talent at any point. I have always said we should have capped him, but his attitude was a huge negahtive.
