[Friendly 16/11/15] Georgia - Albania

With memories of the golden years (80's) of the albanian football still fresh on her mind, Albania is now attempting to recreate its strong football legacy. As young players start making their names abroad, the future is looking bright for Albanian football!

A friendly against a lower ranked team (111th in the world). The good news is that Georgia recently lost 3-0 to Estonia and their team is not very strong coming in. For this game I would hope Ganiu changes things up and experiments with the lineup by giving some of the younger guys like Shala, Rrahmani and Manaj a start.

There is no point in testing Rrahmani as he's well below the level of Ajeti/Gjimshiti and he proved it in the Kosovo friendly. Mavraj will be coming back anyway and the 4 CBs are pretty much secured. Rrahmani belongs in the u-21 and he could've helped that team more.

I hope Roshi was saved for this game. Albania looks lost without him.. not because he's some great player but simply because he's the only winger in the team and that's why he stands out. We have big problems in attack.

Manaj also needs to start. Respect to Cikalleshi because he's a warrior and has a little bit of talent but the guy can't go 13 games without scoring.. Needs to be benched and start over... maybe that helps him psychologically.

Really confused as to why Shala never seems to get any playing time. Probably because anybody with technique doesn't fit into the De Biasi system.

Di Biasi probably sees him as a winger. As a winger he doesn't have the pace or tenacity and probably isn't a two way player. In the middle DB likes bulldogs and defensive minded players which Shala isn't.

If you don't have a defensive approach DB isn't going to play you. Only pure attacking player we had starting in recent memory was Rama but that's been nearly two years.

Yeah but that's so crippling. It might work in the qualifiers against somebody like Armenia and Denmark but in the actual euros if we go in thinking we are gonna get three 0-0s we need to re-evaluate our strategy as we will ending up losing all 3 games 1-0 and going home scoreless.

Not to mention we'll forever be stuck in the cycle of the draw first mentality when most of the good players coming through our youth ranks are attacking minded guys.

He was one of the most exciting players to play for us in recent times, everytime he got the ball you could feel something might happen. In the last games he played with us, Kace and him were a level above everyone else on the pitch as they had technical quality. Shame his career has went downhill.

If we go to the Euros with the team we have now we will what Iran was to the World Cup 2014 to these Euros. The boring team no one wants to see. Not to mention we will most likely go home with three 1-0 or 2-0 losses. De Biasi's defensive tactics might hold Armenia and Denmark but with the players Germany and Spain have they will eventually break you down and at best you will end up losing by a goal or two and be on a plane home. Not to mention we don't even counter attack, we just sit back for 90 minutes. Cikaleshi hasn't ever scored for Albania and is yet to score 3 months into the season, maybe if he doesn't score the whole season De Biasi might not take him (probably still will and he'll start).

We need to be exciting and adventurous when we go to the Euro's and not adopted a loser mentality. Start Avdijaj-Manaj-Rashica as the front three and see what happens (Manaj only if he plays a decent amount for Inter). People love using the excuse 'they're young', which is so unintelligent as Rashica and Avdijaj play every game for there clubs and are actually doing well whereas Gashi, Lenjani and Roshi are either on the bench or don't even make the squad. Balaj is the only attacking player we have which starts for his club.
