Yeah I thought the religious freak was saying "allahu eshte nje" but the other explanation makes more sense.

I don't know if De Biasi is either a genius or the luckiest motherfcker on the planet but he keeps making history.

No matter what happens now(with the qualification) we have to admit that the Euros have been a success. I would be happy with just a goal but we got 3 points.. can't ask for more.

Ajeti transforms when he plays for the NT. Seems like the more pressure there is the better he plays. Remember the Denmark away game too?? This guy always plays like a beast for Albania but massive props to DB for playing him over Cana. That took balls.

Ajeti looks like a young Cana out there. Physical as hell, hard tackles, timely interceptions.

And we got his brother too

Great performance I'm proud of them. Wish they'd pushed it a bit more towards the end and tried to get a second goal as Romania were falling apart but obviously they weren't taking any chances.

I think part of the success in this game was the fact that Romania tend to play in occasional bursts and this allowed Albanian players more control of the game. Flicking through the channels you could see that France are a much more pressurising team even when they do not seem like it.

Still, great performance tonight :flag:

If refs were fair to Romania on that offside call, the game would've ended 1-1, we would've ended last, disqualified, and we would've grilled DB. DB is a good motivator, but he's a still coward tactically.

We were lucky on so many fronts today. I guess it makes up for the bad luck vs. Switzerland and France.

Indeed hopefully his brother will turn a better striker than the ones we already have. Balaj came in and didn't show anything. Ajeti might get so many offers now that he doesn't have a contract .

Rewatched the match carefully.

Berisha 6 - A couple of good saves, but awful goal kicks and still suffering from butterfinger syndrome.

Hysaj 6 - Did his job defensively, apart from fucking up the offside trap late on. Could've cost us the game. Not as influential offensively as with Switzerland. Still struggles with fast players.

Ajeti 8 - Solid. Great tackle in the box late on. Good passing.

Mavraj 7.5 - Calm and collected. Like Hysaj struggles with fast players but his positioning and experience make up for it though. Could do without the terrifying screams after the game.

Agolli 6.5 - Decent defensively, quieter offensively. Doesn't seem like captain material, but maybe that's what we need right now. A calming influence, rather than an emotional train wreck like Cana.

Basha 6 - Good passing but reckless defensively. Could've easily been sent off.

Memushaj 7.5 - Best player in possession, but could've been soooo much better. Missed an open assist first half, and another on the counter 2 v 1 second half.

Abrashi 7 - Ran the most out of anyone. His passing was good too. Seeing new side of him so far.

Lila 7 - Best attacking stint ever for the NT that first half. Should've gotten an assist, if Lenjani didn't mess up his chance. Saved DB's ass, as we know he wasn't put there to attack, and will most likely never replicate this performance again.

Lenjani 4.5 - Flop of the match. Useless apart from his running.

Sadiku 7 - Just awful hold up play. Would've been a 5, but that goal was pure striker's instinct, and stepped up when his teammates were choking. Should've played the 90.

Subs:
Balaj 5 - Pretty useless. Waste of a sub. Sadiku without the goal scoring.

Roshi 6.5 - Very lively. Was beating tired defenders with his pace, but nothing came of it in the end.

Cana 7 - Pretty solid as a DM. Picked up loose balls, 1-2 great tackles, and good in the air. Not sure if he can play this position for 90 minutes, but here he was good.

DB 6 - It was clear he had given up hope before the game started and would've settled for a draw/1 point. Right decision sticking with Ajeti, but got lucky with Lila's one-off great offensive display. Lila was there to defend not attack. Balaj sub was a complete waste of time, and it may have cost us the qualifiers, if Sadiku would've scored otherwise in the form he was in. Got lucky the Czech ref fucked up the offside call, or else we would've been out of the tournament.

Also, can't blame him for Lenjani's choking. I feel sympathy for him there. Good call bringing Cana on as DM last 10 minutes, and Roshi for Lenjani.

^Pretty much agree with those ratings

The subs were good(finally). He brought in strength and height(Balaj, Cana) and speed(Roshi) which was crucial. They helped to win some duels and kill time and Romanian momentum.

If Cana doesn't decide to retire he could be used as a CB/DM sub for the last 10-20 minutes if we need to seal a game. He has that kind of experience to still be useful but he definitely can't be starter anymore at any position.

I agree with you on Lenjani. I think he has been the flop of the tournament in all honesty.

Berisha's kicking has been very frustrating. I'm surprised he still hasn't learned how to kick.

Ajeti and Memushaj(although he does make mistakes) have been the most pleasant surprises. I remember when Memushaj made his debut for Albania and we all joked about him because he was so awful. Then he got called again a year later and he was just as awful... Now he's a starter in the Euros and playing well. Pretty amazing.
