I don't get why we over hype older players and glorify them. Sadiku has a better scoring rate than Bogdani for the national team.

The key player of that generation was Altin Lala who was just class. The other players like Skela, Bogdani, etc, get overhyped by us and by journalists.

We are comparing a career second division player who has failed in Poland of all places, to a career Serie A player who was bigger, faster, and stronger than him. Not only that, but Bogdani was also much better on the ball and was a true threat in the air as well..

I'm sick 🤢 of how overhyped are past players like Bogdani Tare Lala Skela are guys who achieved nothing with club and nt are remembered as legends 😣
WHY??
Because they won once Greece..?
Then Balaj is an icon with his once in a lifetime strike against Portugal which was and still is the biggest away victory in our history
Sadiku at Euro when it mattered was a beast for Albania's standards and his goal against Romania will be remembered forever
We never had a killer upfront face it
But the only guy who had more than one top class performance against a decent opponent is Sadiku in a game that we won (Romania, Turkey Israel)

Sadikus goal against Romania is big for albanians since it was our first win at a major tourney but at the end of the day, it’s just another match and it proved to have no impact on our qualification to the next stage. Sadikus goals are nowhere near the level of competition Bogdani scored against. Bogdani ja shpoj rjeten frances portugalis danimarkes e Ukraines 2 copa (official matches)

Let's not pretend like Bogdani, Skela, Lala wouldn't absolute WALK in the starting lineup right now..

They were all top league career players... Right now we don't any midfielder/attacker who can get some minutes in a top league...barely the bench. All we've got is defenders and a goalkeeper.

He also played as a LB. It's time to make him a LB permanently and get it over with.

No doubt Sadiku is a good goalscorer (maybe better than Bogdani), but you can't just look at tally. You have to look at opposition, service they got, and overall contribution. Bogdani was a proper target man. Super physical, could hold up the ball, and you could play off of him. Sadiku is pretty much just a poacher and nothing else.

I would say most of the time (not every game), Sadiku's goalscoring level is at a low/mid-table Serie A/EPL/La Liga level. But he just sucks at everything else, that he will never be a regular in a top league. He is a bit like Salihi. Bogdani on the other hand could easily be a starter for a bottom/mid table Serie A team. In fact, he even did it when Serie A was a lot stronger.

What I’m hearing is that we’re desperate for Broja to turn out to be a good striker

Well let's see why we rated those guys more than these scrubs we have these days:
Altin Lala played for 14 years in Bundesliga. He was captain of Hannover for 4 years.
Ervin Skela bounced between various Bindesliga cubs for over a decade.
Igli Tare bounced between various Serie A and Bundesliga for over a decade.
Erion Bogdani played as a forward in Serie A for over a decade.

None of these guys was a world beater and you can say that Berisha, Strakosha, Gjimshiti and Hysaj have performed just as well in their leagues if not better but let's not bring Sadiku or Balaj into the conversation. They are scrubs who are bouncing around in bottom feeder leagues.

In that one campaign when we had Switzerland, Russia and Ireland in the group they were undefeated at home. They went on a two year undefeated streak at home under Briegel.
