Albanian teams in Europe 2018-2019

With memories of the golden years (80's) of the albanian football still fresh on her mind, Albania is now attempting to recreate its strong football legacy. As young players start making their names abroad, the future is looking bright for Albanian football!

Albanian football will never progress anywhere until they stop fixing matches. All these teams are match fixers apart from Kukesi under Gjici. Any time they get to a European competition, where foreign companies allow them to bet on their teams (since Albanian betting companies will never hand out this kinda of shit), they go and fix matches. First it was Teuta and Skenderbeu, now Luftetari and Partizani seem to be doing the same. Just watch, in a year or two UEFA will hand out bans for the disgraces that happened today. I was hoping Partizani would have clean hands, but that goal today was the clearest example of taking a dive I've ever seen.

Match fixing is a cancer that needs to be removed, otherwise they will never get anywhere, and when the 90s diaspora dries up, we're back to Bakajs and Bulkus.

No Skenderbeu = No Albanian results in club football. Simple as that. We're back to losing every game and hoping it isn't by huge margins. Skenderbeu was the only competitive team Albania has ever had. It sucks that they took it away.

Kukesi fires the Austrian coach and hires Cungu after the 0:0 draw against Maltese team. They’ll continue to pay 10k € (the highest wage in Superliga) to the austrian coach untill next may.

Edit: Kukesi says they didn’t renew the contract to Pakult.

All their Europea League earnings going to a coach, who tied a Maltan team and was fired after 1 game. Just wow.

Hiring western coaches is a complete waste of money. They demand way higher pay, have a communication barrier, and just aren't that good. If you can't find someone in Albania go to Bosnia or Croatia or something.

Kukesi managed to score a late goal against that Maltan team, and proceed 1-1 on away goals. They face either Ljubjana or Qarabag (Agolli's team) in the next round.

UEFA made it a fucking ton harder by adding an extra round, but at least even if they lose this they can go to 3rd round of EL play-offs. At least this round wasn't a complete embarrassment.

Shkendija losing 3-0 away at HT. I'm getting some Skenderbeu vibes from them now.

Tf, didn't they win like 5-0? Sounds like match fixing.

How come Kukesi didn't sign half of Skenderbeu's squad? Lilaj and James could have potentially propelled them to a EL spot.

Laci went through! They beat Anorthosis (decentish team, definitely favourites this tie) on away goal.

Next round opponents are no stronger than the team they beat.

Money. Lilaj is making like 2-300 thousands euros/year in Azeirbajan. I think Kukesi at the most can only afford half of that.
