Georgia played Albania the same way Albania played Spain... like the smaller team. Of course anyone can draw against anyone on a good day but it's the overall consistency and potential that proves higher level. It takes talent to qualify because you actually have to win games.

Macedonia became competitive when they started getting top leaguers (Alioski, Elmas, Bardhi)
Montenegro was competitive when they HAD top leaguers... Not anymore because that generation is finished.
Iceland was competitive when they had top leaguers. Not anymore because that generation is finished.

Georgia has absolutely no chance of qualifying because they have a bunch of scrubs playing in “the depths of Europe”. They might upset or draw once in a while like Albania used to do but they are not a serious team.
If Georgia is not a serious team, why was Bet365 suggesting a positive result for them ~55% of the time, in our house?

It seems that the oddsmakers did not care much about how many super professionals Albania had rostered. Georgia and their bunch of scrubs playing in “the depths of Europe” would have been favored to win if the match was played in Tbilisi..

Do the experts here and on Facebook have a better grasp of the situation than Bet365?

Because it was a random friendly against Albanian reserves?? Albania was still favored to win by one goal. Odds were spot on.

Keep in mind that Albania still has to earn the respect of oddsmakers/public because its historical results are not good. Right now Albania can only be major favorites against the San Marinos of the world.

Load of nonsense..

Odds came out on the 28th, a day before lineups were released, and 1X2 tipped in favor of the home team right before the match. To put it simply, away had greater than ~55% chance of positive result on March 28th (~57% Bet365, when I posted it on page 2 of this thread, and ~60% at opening).

Albania was NOT favored to win by 1 goal either! How could it be so, when positive result away had ~55% chance probability pre-match? Impossible..

^ Albania moneyline was pretty much even money. What was Georgias?

The fact that you think that a draw is a "positive" result for Georgia against Albanian reserves not only contradicts what you're saying about better players not mattering but it also proves that these teams have different levels and expectations.

Albania will be fighting to qualify for the Euros. Georgia will be fighting to not finish last in the group. Why? Because Albania has top leaguers and Georgia does not.

A win or a draw is considered a positive result for any team in football.

Albania was favored to win this match (home win most probable outcome in 3 way game), as it was played in Tirana. Georgia would have been favored to win, if it was played in Tbilisi. Both teams are on similar level, regardless of Albania rostering more super professionals..
