While Albania qualified for Euro 2016 and have been on an upward curve for some time, earning a spot at Euro 2024 was not expected with Czech Republic and Poland in their group.

That particularly rings true when they lost 1-0 to the latter in their opening fixture, but a seven-game undefeated streak has remarkably led to qualification with a match to spare.

Wins and clean sheets over Poland and Czech Republic in September and October proved to be decisive, leaving a 1-1 draw in Moldova on Friday enough to seal a top-two place.

Conceding in the 87th minute took nothing away from their achievement, Sylvinho and his squad simply delighted to return to the big stage.

Nevertheless, they will now be determined to confirm first place and ensure a better seeding, potentially aiding their cause in Germany as they bid to show that they will not just be there to make up the numbers.

Despite avoiding the big names when the draw was made, it has proven to be an arduous qualifying period for Faroe Islands, whose solitary point came on matchday one versus Moldova.

Since them, six successive defeats have been posted, scoring just one goal in the process, taking away the momentum that had been generated from their respectable UEFA Nations League campaign beforehand.

Hakan Ericson will want to end the nation's fixtures for 2023 on a high, and they can take positives from only losing 1-0 away to Czech Republic in their most recent competitive match.

Cikaleshi was born for these kind of matches to score against fisherman. He will score some easy tap in so this is one of the few times I dont mind him starting.

Faroe isn't an easy bone even for our main team. They really know how to bunker.

They don't need anymore "peasants", we already qualified. FSHF backstabbed most loyal Kombetarja fans before EURO's 2016, they used "UEFA" as excuse to create "Shoqata e Tifozeve" or whatever was name, so it's obvious they will do it again. Loyal fans should buy tickets on black market, if they want to attend, now it's time for politicians children and mistresses to show up on stands.

They weren’t. They were treated like rockstars since the Serbia match in 2014 but the following summer is when they packed it in after the France friendly victory in Elbasan that June. They were getting poor results after that but were still in euphoria for qualifying.

The only difference is this current team is much more talented on paper. I think only Mavraj from that squad would be a guaranteed starter for this current team. So even if this team celebrates they can still compete based on talent and the expectations have risen because of what 2016 team has done. The expectation is for them to compete in the euros now instead of just being happy they got in

Our best player didnt play this entire campaign and we're about to top the group. Even DB admitted this team is on a whole other level.

The fact that Bare is a bench player is still crazy to me. Probably the best player after Broja under Reja.
