This season of Kosova superliga has been quite agonistic with at least 6 teams aiming to win the title with a 5 pt difference after 16 matches. Ferronikeli leading and Hajvalia, Kosova Vushtri, Trepça89, Prishtina and Besa Peje following. Quite interesting to follow the league althrough not recognized internationally but keeps producing good talents and players who succeded in the international football.

If Kosova is recognized by UEFA/FIFA, could there potentially be a dual Kosova-Albania superliga?

Yes. It could be a joint league and at that point would be the same having only one national team also.Genti wrote:If Kosova is recognized by UEFA/FIFA, could there potentially be a dual Kosova-Albania superliga?

So fixing matches in Albanian superliga has become a routine now.

Hope Idrizi can convince UEFA to have albanian matches not listed in any bets.

I didn't know where to post this, but Kosova formally applied for UEFA membership, and Platini said they will be part of the "European family" soon. He said "maybe 2016".

They just got accepted by The IOC in December and FIBA yesterday so I think a UEFA/FIFA membership may be closer than we think. Serbia is not even bothering to block them anymore, they're just asking that the NTs and clubs don't play each other in the future.DigBick wrote:I didn't know where to post this, but Kosova formally applied for UEFA membership, and Platini said they will be part of the "European family" soon. Kosova just got accepted into FIBA last week too so wouldn't be surprised if UEFA/FIFA gives them membership too.

Duka said Kosova will most likely be accepted with a full membership in UEFA/FIFA sometime in 2016. However, it will be difficult to enroll in time for 2018 World Cup. So most likely we have another campaign with all Albanians after this. But after 2018, it looks like we will have 2 teams.
Let's hope we will make once at least to a major tourny before we go our separate ways.

It will be weird when we play each other. I hope the fans won't be divided or start rivalries with each other. I only want nje kombetare.DigBick wrote:Duka said Kosova will most likely be accepted with a full membership in UEFA/FIFA sometime in 2016. It's confirmed, both clubs, Ferronikeli (champions) and Prishtina (cup winners) will not be participating in the international stage.
I say this is very good news. I hope people understand that one obstacle has been overcome, however there many obstacles to be faced and people/politicians/business man/football lovers understand the importance of funding/investments that need to be carried out.
