Thanks, Owner - Diyanet is their ministry of religious affairs.

But do you know what happened with the design? - I've read a bit up on it, and the plans for what it is supposed to look like has changed from the last time I heard about the project. Back then it was planned to look like this:

Probably the same as usual, when we see plans of our coming stadiums, lol.

No idea. I WISH it looked like that. That video seems old (even though it was put up on yt in 2015).

They probably a plan to build it themselves, then Erdogan came along and changed it.

Nobody cares about the architecture, the more concerning part is that it's built with Turkish money. I do see the need for a mosque but for non practicing Albanians this is abut too much.

In a country that was under Ottoman rule for 600 years, you build the biggest religious building in the capital, in neo-Ottoman architecture.

What signal is that sending?

That we are a majority moslem country?

I drove by a month ago and it doesn't look anything remotely like those Danish plans.

There is a difference between Islam and Neo-Ottomanism. If you can't see it, then me convincing you is pointless.

I'm quite surprised with how religious muslims in Albania are.

And tbh, I'm against building a big mosque with an ottoman architecture in Tirana or Prishtina.

? The majority don't practice it regularly nor have they have picked up a religious text.

But there is a small sect that is getting more and more radicalized.

What is the alternative to Neo-Ottomanism? Salafist Mosque?
