You know Ismajli scored on Italy last time out?

Ismajli was starter during qualifiers where our defence was top! Former captain of Kosovo u21 who had some great results including 0-0 Germany and beat Norway twice (0-3, 3-2) qualifiers!

Ismajli is not just some random guy, he’s a 🦁

He's still very young which is good, but we need some top level wingers... Facing Italy with Seferi and Asani is not it.

And I feel bad for shitting on Asani, since he has had some key moments for us, but he's a ghost 99% of the time.

Tore up the Kosovan Superliga with 25 goals and 9 assists in 2924 minutes. 3 goals and 2 assists in 270 minutes cup matches..

Another left foot on the right wing!

Italy should be thanking Albania and Sylvinho for having to face them.

A truly mediocre team

I knew we won't face weaker Italy ever than this one but we showed too much respect against them.

Very mediocre. Some of these players are just not good. Darmian is practically the Italian Hysaj and seems to be an undisputed starter for them. I haven't heard El Shawaary's name since 2016 but yet here he is in a knockout match, Fagiolo has only 4 club appearances this year. These guys are Bajrami and Ramadani level quality. The only quality players on that team is Gigi, Barella, Bastoni and probably Dimarco.

Only Albania plays scared against that team and only Albania thinks losing 1-0 to a weak italy side as a success.

Reminder that the only time we've gotten a result against a Top 5 league NT was the 0-0 against Germany in the 1960s (it was 1-0 in reality for us b/c of wrongfully disallowed goal). All domestic players and domestic coach.

We need to let go of this fetish for foreign coaches who treat Albania like we're San Marino. They instill no confidence. A bit of self belief, even delusion, would have gone a long way. It's time for an Ilir Daja or even a Mirel Josa. Guys who've gotten results with Albanian players.

All these foreign coaches will just cower and that mentality will be reflected in the formation and the players as well.
