Albanians abroad

With memories of the golden years (80's) of the albanian football still fresh on her mind, Albania is now attempting to recreate its strong football legacy. As young players start making their names abroad, the future is looking bright for Albanian football!

^ LOL how many of them will even become professional players? Nevermind international.. Out of those only Prenga is and he plays in a super weak league/club.

My opinion is that good talents with international potential make themselves known early. At ages 18-19 like Hysaj, Kace and now Avdijaj have done. If you're about that age and still play youth soccer then there is a good chance that you're nothing special and will never be. Of course some players peak later but judging/depending on players who still play at u-20 leagues is ridiculous. The men's game is a different beast.

Strakosha is now the starter for Salernitana.

Ajeti is getting playing time this year with the first team at Basel.

And Manaj for the time being at least, is on the right track. The fact that he just joined the club, and is already played in friendlies with the first team, shows that they see some potential in him.

The rest (other than Prenga), still play with youth teams, and they could go the Kabashi route easily.

Useless anyway, his personal performance will not have any interest on Albanian football even on medias they call him "Belgian" i hope he marry with anything else than an Albanian girl and have kids wich assimilate into Belgian or whatever.

Here, I made a thread for you guys obsessed with the likes of Januzaj and Shaqiri:

viewtopic.php?f=21&t=136

I'm not sure what you guys don't understand. Januzaj is Belgian and has nothing to do with Albanian football.

This thread is reserved for players who play or potentially will play for the Albania NT. Wasting space on others will not be tolerated.

Looks like Gashi might be having a falling out with the coach. Their manager is mad that Gashi took the penalty when Janko should have and saying he should respect the "hierarchy". Gashi's ofc mad about being a substitute(and rightfully so).

Normally, I look twice when Alb media reports this but it's also reported by Blick. Either Gashi will be sold or he's going to be a bench player.

Man Lenjani not even on the bench for Rennes. Was he that bad last week?

Roshi once again rotting on the bench. (doesn't even get subbed in).

I honestly think Bernard Berisha is better than both.

It's weird because Lenjani and even Roshi are good players for the NT with some good performances against decent teams. Lenjani especially has been very good since last September for the NT.

It's probably because DB's system is very simple where it's all about pressing, defending and out working the opponent. Athletic players like Roshi/Lenjani can do well in that system. I still have some hope for Lenjani as he's a hard working player and versatile(he's just a bit dumb). Roshi is failing in Croatia, can't defend him...

BTW, Milot Rashica started again for Vitesse yesteday. Only 19 years old
