2015 Official Watching the Scoreboard Thread
The trade deadline is past and the pennant race is in full swing. At the start of August, the Yankees hold a 6-game lead in the AL East (6 games up in the loss column over Baltimore, 7 over Toronto).
Time to start obsessing about the scoreboard as we head toward the stretch run!

Damn they swept the Cubs. Good on them, I hope they don't choke in the WS. Lots of long suffering Mets fans must be ecstatic.artan wrote:Mets one game away from the world series. How you feel Shpati?

The last time a team swept an LCS and then went on to win a World Series was in 95 with the Atlanta Braves. Mets are more likely to get swept themselves than they are to win the World Series.

Very unexpected. I knew they could be here 2-3 years from now with the starting pitching they have, but I didn't expect them to be here so early.artan wrote:Mets one game away from the world series. How you feel Shpati?
I'm really nervous for this World Series. I really hope the Mets can do it. This is the year. They are already here and will likely not have Murphy and Cespedes next season, so they won't be better (on offense) unless the Wilpons win the lottery.
It's going to be tough for sure.Pjetër wrote:The last time a team swept an LCS and then went on to win a World Series was in 95 with the Atlanta Braves. Mets are more likely to get swept themselves than they are to win the World Series.
I hope the added rest won't kill the rhythm of the team.
The starters are going to have to go 7 innings at least and the Mets offense will have to hit the Royals' starters early.

Wanna talk about suffrage? The Cubs haven't won a WS since 1908 and haven't been to one since 1945.Plako wrote:Damn they swept the Cubs. Good on them, I hope they don't choke in the WS. I would be most concerned with Daniel Murphy in this regard. The last thing he needed was almost a week to cool off.Shpati wrote:I hope the added rest won't kill the rhythm of the team.
