My dad speaks like he is from Tepelene , he grew up in the army since he was kid and most of the time he stayed in south (tepelene , vlore , korçe) . My mom speaks closest to the formal language , she studied and lived in Tirane.
The rest of the family speaks mixed lezhjanshe. I like speaking in dialect and find myself quite very fluent using it while speaking the formal language i think everyone's voice will sound more feminine.
Kosova has many dialects too, from my experience people from Prishtina and Prizreni speak a version that can be easily understandable by the rest of albanians.
I actually could understand them. But boy did that woman speak fast haha.
As for Prizreni, I don't know regarding understandig. I just don't like their dialect.

Well everyone likes his own dialect and obviously there is nothing to despize about the other dialects. They are and should all be part of our language richness , one can like one or another because it's the same like with the languages. I often meet people from south who came to Italy very young and didn't follow school so they speak strict dialect , most of the time i've difficulties comunicating with them because they don't understand me so i've to speak in Italian with them . Lorik Cana speaks quite well too for being a diaspora kid unlike Lila, Shehi and others who should not be taken into consideration

Most people speak in their local dialects, only a select educated class speaks standard Albanian.
Most people speak Standard Albanian with some dialectal thrown in. Standard Albanian is the dominant form of Albanian in most of the country, especially the urban areas.
In places like Elbasan and Kavaje for example, do most people speak the traditional dialects or Standard Albanian with some influence from local dialects?
You have even more extreme cases in places like Tirana where almost no one, not even most villagers in the area speak the traditional dialect. Using the occasional O instead of A doesn't mean you are speaking in the traditional Tirana dialect when the base is still Standard Albanian.
