With memories of the golden years (80's) of the albanian football still fresh on her mind, Albania is now attempting to recreate its strong football legacy. As young players start making their names abroad, the future is looking bright for Albanian football!

If Olayinka was Albanian we probably wouldn't consider him anything special or good enough for the NT. Kinda like Bernard Berisha but atleast Berisha has been more influential for Skenderbeu . But since Olayinka is a foreigner we're suddenly supposed to think he's good enough for the NT. I feel like Albanians will want someone on him on the NT so they can say "Look how diverse we are! Look how European we are!"
And like Damien said if you're gonna do it do it right. Don't get a Superliga player ffs. Get someone playing in a top league.
BTW, lets give that cap to Rashica and Manaj instead.
I think it's really sad how De Biasi is constantly mentioning a player in Manaj who is yet to play for 30 minutes at a time for Inter when you have players like Rashica who are doing the rounds, putting their heads down and letting their performances speak for themselves. I think it's time we concentrated on players who are actually playing on a football pitch and not just media hyped ''potential''.
Unless Manaj gets significant minutes from here on out I think even somebody like Olayinka is more deserved of a call up to the Euros. Think about it, if Olayinka was a 19 year old Albanian performing the way he is in the superliga he would at least be a starter in the u21 side. Is there really much difference between Latifi and Olayinka if you put it right down to performances, in fact I'd argue Olayinka is a little better.
Duka is right about not wanting Olayinka. People like to bring up that France, Italy, etc have "foreigners" and want to copy them but in reality is that the "foreigners" of those countries are actually products of their footballing system, most of them born and raised there. Olayinka on the other hand has no connection with Albania other than the fact that he has been working there for a few years. He doesn't even know the language.. Ivan Gvozdenovic speaks better Albanian than him(literally). Also he's a mercenary and has treated Skenderbeu badly.
Now people can say that someone like Shkelzen Gashi has even less of a connection with Albania but those dudes are of Albanian ancestry so they do have some sort of connection, at least bigger than Olayinka.
We don't need him on a technical aspect either. If we were desperate ok but the truth is that there are a lot of players around.

When he had comportamental problems wih his club and didn't have a single minute in pro football , with the advice of his manager because of economic and marketing benefits he asked to join our team but now that they called him the "national albanian" doesn't care. Olayinka doesn't feel albanian and will probably never be , but well he speaks albanian, it's been a while that he is living in Albania. Doesn't mind to join the national team. He is only 19 and has great potential to become a great player for our standarts, better than any striker we have. Look at Croatia or even Armenia , they got Eduardo and Pizzelli who are their best attacking players they have . Not that Croatia lacks strikers and Eduardo was playing in their domestic football. Just saying that if Olyainka gets tested in a friendly for the National team i personally wouldn't mind at all. Even Switzerland was going mad after Embolo (the 17 years old who benched Gashi) and they capped Embolo. The politics in the national team should allow us at least to cap every single player that has potential. Players like Tarashaj should be capped too but at this stage i seriously doubt that he would join us if there is a slim chance he plays for Swizerland .
Bro i respect everyone opinion but i will try explain my point of view, why naturalization of foreign player will have extremely negative effect to our team. Our national team is very specific and one of the secrets of our success is love that our players feel for the jersey. It is obvious that many of Diaspora players can't speak albanian fluently but they have albanian parents, they have relatives in Albania or Kosova and still have strong connection with their fatherland, so it is not hard to transmit significance of our jersey to them when they become part of our team but we should not forget that was it diaspora players who brought different mentality to our NT, they have no inferiority complex against nobody. Olayinka and other foreigners doesn't matter how skillful they are, they always will be "mish i huaj" in our team and that will have negative impact in our dressing room. All albanians (99% are from Albania) who want foreigners in our national team, they have same argument "We should call up Olayinka because Spain got Diego Costa and Italy, Germany have also foreigners" but unfortunately that's very weak argument because as i said every country and nation has their own characteristics. I have nothing against Egbo son or Abraham sons if they become footballers to represent Albania but i don't know why people even consider a player with attitude problems as Olayinka to be part of our national team.

Olayinka is better player than Berisha
He may be but he's still not as important to them as Berisha. Olayinka was suspended for the second half of the season last year and that was when Skenderbeu made their run and won the league. In the summer he disappeared from the team and Skenderbeu went on to make history and qualify for the EL. I'm sensing a pattern here. He's not that good of a player.
Players like Bekim Balaj scored more goals at the same age as him but didn't get capped up while the NT was in shambles at the time. Needless to say Balaj wasn't a good player at the time and isn't that good of a player.. Cikaleshi scored something like 16 goals in half a season for Kukesi two years ago but no one wanted him capped because he was a superliga player. Now people are changing their tune for a guy with an average scoring record on the team that steamrolls the competition?
You guys are letting emotions get in the way of thinking.
Artan is right and made a good point in his reasoning although i'm still reserved , and as i said i wouldn't mind but now it is not even case because it was cathegorically excluded by the divine leader
