With memories of the golden years (80's) of the albanian football still fresh on her mind, Albania is now attempting to recreate its strong football legacy. As young players start making their names abroad, the future is looking bright for Albanian football!

Like I said there's a quota. These morons have to call up players like Balaj, Roshi and Sadiku because they're from Albania and played in the Superliga. Unfortunate because we missed out on some talented players(Talented enough to string together a pass or a dribble)
I feel the same way, but that shit needs to stop. It's as if the longer De Biasi stays with us, the more he gets drawn into that FSHF-shit which we have criticized for years. He's not changing the system, it's the system changing him.
Also, for those of you saying that Veseli is a RB: He's not. He's a CB, but when he came to United they tried to make him a RB because he's not that tall, but he failed there and that's why they let him go. Xhimshiti is better than him at RB and at CB. Fucking disgrace.

I've read some other comments as well and I gotta say that you Kosovars play the race card more than Al Sharpton.
If there was some " Albanian from Albania" or "superliga favoritism" in place then you better believe that the likes of Hyka, Salihi, Lilaj would've been included over scrubs like Rrahmani, Shala, Kukeli(at the end of his career) in the 27th men roster at least. Chill playing the victim because it can go both ways.
Albanian media has always criticized GDB for the superliga not being represented enough in the NT and him being obsessed by "anonymous" foreign products. They have a point but so does he(the superliga is shit).
Now each player is different. Balaj scored the most important goal of the qualifiers so he was always going to be in, Roshi has contributed A LOT in the NT and we are extremely thin at his position, so there was no way in hell he was going to be dropped. All these are great locker room dudes too.
I'm not even an Kosovar. I'm looking at it from a neutral prospective and there's obviously some nepotism when you have former superliga players like Bushi, Jupi, Gega(previously), Bulku, etc, who are part of the staff and hold key spots. They advocate for players they have connections to. Players they could have been teammates with once, players that played for their previous teams and players that had the same shitty careers like they did. Then there's guys like Shakohoxha and other press/journalists who live in bubble and think guys like Roshi is the Albanian Bale and Balaj is this bomberi who scores goals for fun. A guy like Shakohoxha is a popular commentor and is practically part of the FSHF, it would be wise to be on good terms with this guy as he can have an important role on a managers image. It's kinda like what was going on with the youth teams in the past when these random players who were related to or had connections to people in the FSHF were starting for the youth squads.
I think Roshi deserves to be called up and possibly even a starter. But it's hard to defend guys who are bench warmers for middle table clubs in Croatia when there are better and more deserving players out there. You have to think if some of these players are called up because of merit or because they have connections?
And as for Lilaj there's no need when you have players like Xhaka, Abrashi and Lila who are in the same mold but much better. If Salihi would have scored a goal like he did against Norway back in 2013 you'd bet he'd be on this team but he didn't and therefore he's staying home. Why isn't Balaj staying at home?

I can't say that i am happy that Rashica didn't make the squad but had his chance against Luxembourg and Qatar so if you can't impress against those teams, means that you don't deserve to be part of Euro's, simple as that. I have impression that if De Biasi would included Avdijaj in preliminary list, he would scored in both matches and would showed more than Rashica. I feel very sorry only about Djimsiti who didn't do anything wrong to deserve this.
Okay, that's BS and you know it. If you're gonna judge a player in 30 minutes of action in a meaningless friendly where the quality of the game is abysmal you're setting him up for failure. Mavraj who was playing in the midfield was the only play who was able to give him a pass which should say alot about the match. Di Biasi didn't give him a proper test and he didn't want to. Now he can say to the press that he gave this young kid a shot but unfortunately he didn't make the cut. Now if he would have started him against Ukraine and he didn't impress then fine.
Some of you guys are just football hipsters. You're arguing for the sake of arguing. These guys thinking someone like Balaj should make the roster is a damn joke.

This Italian f*** doesn't call up Rashica and even has the audacity not to call up Xhimshiti who has contributed during the qualifiers. This guy has to go after the Euros.
Also, with this selection I begin to believe that Shaqiri and co. might have been on to something when they told that FSHF wouldn't call them/asked for money/whatever. No other team would let fucking Roshi with 5 minutes during the entire season be called up for the Euros - but in Albania everything goes and no questions asked.

If Rashica would been a Partizani academy product, he won't be made the preliminary list. Elis Bakaj started playing with Partizani as 16 year old in europeans cups and had best performances as player in that was never convocated in NT until joined Dinamo Tirana. Muzaka same as Bakaj had his best career games in Partizani jersey but he never was considered as option until left Partizani. Biggest crime was made with Dorian Bylykbashi who was Elbasani product but was fans favorite at Partizani, probably was one of most gifted albanians in recent years but he was ignored until he went in Ukraine.

ZenMaster has a point though. We are making Rashica to be our savior at 19yo with nothing to show deserving of this hype. I am bummed too Rashica didn't make it but the coach is in a better position to make the call. I am really bummed about Xhimshiti since he was part of the qualifiers and did relatively well. I also would have brought in Manaj over Balaj but hat's just me.
Xhimi's gf(that slavic girl) is super pissed. She posted this(below) and even went on DB's fan page to diss him lol. Apparently there is word that he cried after the team was announced..damn... What an unfortunate situation.
At the end of the day we are discussing/arguing about reserves who wouldn't make a damn difference.
