With memories of the golden years (80's) of the albanian football still fresh on her mind, Albania is now attempting to recreate its strong football legacy. As young players start making their names abroad, the future is looking bright for Albanian football!

The kids talented and if he wants to play for us then he is more then welcome. Rashica for now is our special player but I'd like nothing more than to have Avdijaj beside him. Both love taking players on and beating them which is something we haven't had since Rama's little stint with us.
What evidence or indication do you have that he wants to be play for Albania? If the guy can't even come out with a word of Albanian then why would he choose Albania as his national side? Your national side is one of the most important decisions you make as a football player and I just don't see him randomly selecting us after never actually mentioning the team.
So if I look at his instagram and facebook it means he's living life and I'm not? You seem insecure.
No but you can't just judge him and say he doesn't feel Albanian because he doesn't make any posts in Shqip. It's like saying us Shqipes in the US don't feel Albanian because all our FB/IG posts are in English. That's not how national identity is identified.
You can't compare a forum setting to Facebook/Twitter/Insta etc where you are publicizing your comments to the world. National Identity is how you perceive yourself internally of course but you must also show it outwardly. At the moment is there any difference between Avdijaj and say somebody like Schweinsteiger apart from the fact Avdijaj has an Albanian surname. In fact at the moment I'd argue even somebody like Olayinka desires to play for Albania more than he does. There's a difference between being Albanian in blood and in character. Sure there are players like Valon Behrami, Dzemaili, Kasami, Panagiotis Kone and Ninis who are are all technically Albanian. But would we actually call them that really. They've all assumed their country of residences identity completely. This is especially true with Kone who went as far as to completely change his name.
From MY perspective is seems he's not that interested in playing for the national team at all, he's never once said he will and most the hype is from bogus media articles which serve no basis at all.
All the shqipes living in the US/England I know of regularly outwardly proclaim their heritage.
Avdijaj has posted lots of Albanian related stuff on his fb. He just stopped for the last couple of months. Maybe when he was hot for a while he thought Germany would keep him on their radar (lol).
Veseli was captain of Switzerland U21 and played with Man Utd youths along with Januzaj. Yeah youth teams don't mean much, but he's certainly got an impressive resume from his early years.

Yeah I might of been a little harsh on Avdijaj initially, however it still remains to be seen whether he truly wants to play for us or just waiting for when Germany come into contact.
Veseli seems a decent addition. Not at the greatest club in the world but I remember him having a lot of potential to his name and loads of clubs were after him
The Avdijaj thing is fake. I dm'd Redi Jupi on Instagram and he told me that Fshf is not interested in him anymore. He knows because he talks to De Biasi everyday.
Looks like it's just journalists trying to fill their newspapers and sites.
As for Veseli, he only has one cap for the Swiss u-21 and that was 44 minutes in a friendly.. Doesn't seem like a promising player at all but I'm hoping De Biasi actually scouted him(unlike Fidan Aliti and many others) so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure Hadergjonaj, Pishni(called up for Kosovo) are much better players though.
What's up with Djmisiti?? He completely lost his place since he chose Albania. He was a guaranteed starter for years previously lol..
Does anyone actually think Avdijaj has a chance to play for Germany? Highly doubtful. The sheer amount of talent Germany produces, plus he's really not that great. I think he will have to settle for us one way or another.

Well Kosovo is expected to be recognized around spring/summer. I think he'll play for them. Yeah, very tiny chance for Germany..
Januzaj could very well switch to Kosovo as well because he's in bad terms with the Belgians. He recently refused their u-21.

Avdijaj in next 12 months will become a key player for Schalke, if somebody doubts in his talent than it is better to watch his perfomances at Sturm in this season.
