Bet365 has Russia (-163) a clear favorite to win the group, followed by Israel (+350) and Albania (+600).
Regardless of the odds, Albania took 6 points off a top 40 ranked team in the recent qualifiers so a first place finish is not off the table. Second place should be a must!

This is how you become a good team. You gotta face and prove yourself against professional opposition, and seeing some good signs from the past WCQ, we can certainly achieve a 2nd placed finish and perhaps a 1st.
With Broja leading the attack, Djimsiti marshalling the defense, what could go wrong?

The fact that Broja and Djimsiti are not playing 4 games in 11 days(assuming they are available in the first place). You'll have to depend on the Dermakus and Seferis for half the games.RedFootballs wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 6:29 pm

Seems the only thing could stop us would be our own self. A coach and his assistants who insist on leaving out the best player due to jealously. As the saying goes..RedFootballs wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 6:29 pm With Broja leading the attack, Djimsiti marshalling the defense, what could go wrong?
Without paying a donation, you cannot make the formation.

Albania has enough depth.
Cikalleshi and Manaj will do the trick in attack. Laci and Ramadani have proven to be solid options in midfield. Doka, Mihaj and Veseli are always there in defence.
The only thing can get in the way is a coach who does not understand his strengths and weaknesses, while leaving out the best player in favor of a bunch of chumps!

These players provide 0 confidence, especially when you see them struggle against Andorra and needing Strakosha to bail them out with 3-4 key saves.

Well guys we need to stay on League B. The following Nations League will be an union between Europe and South America. So with some luck we could be facing Brasil, Argentina, Chile and co… it would be like playing a Mini World Cup

Do the players ahead of them provide more confidence?
It was the super professional Hysaj who handed Poland our hopes of qualification in front of 22k Albanians. It was the wig wearing midget Bare who put the final nail in our coffin at Poland.

Players like Hysaj and Bare might make a mistake or two against high level teams like Poland but that's normal. Even Sergio Ramos has made countless of blunders against Barcelona. But that didn't make him any less world class.
But their dominance and talent is not questioned when playing against Andorra, San Marino, and even Israel, Iceland..
That's the difference between them and players like Ramadani who get overwhelmed by teams like Andorra. That's because that's their true level. There are levels.
In this group only Russia can seriously challenge players like Hysaj, Bare, Djimsiti, Kumbulla and Broja. Anyone else can challenge the low level tier you mentioned as "depth".

The super professional Hysaj has not had a good game in years, competition ranging from Lithuania to England.Dallku wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 10:11 pm Players like Hysaj and Bare might make a mistake or two against high level teams like Poland but that's normal. Ramadani was the best player on the pitch against top 30 ranked Poland in front of 22k Albanians. This brings me to my next point about knowing your own strengths and weaknesses..
Playing girls like Bare, Bajrami, etc. and trying to hold possession might work on lower ranked teams, but will backfire when faced with real competition.
The correct strategy in this case is to park the bus, with taller and more physical players such as Laci, Ramadani, and Doka. There is time and place for all of these guys to fit in, but the coach must be aware of the correct game plan needed for each different opponent.
De Biasi was a master at this, Reja not so much.
