Cafu wasn't a failure, he was regularly playing with San Paolo in his early 20s and played just one season in Spain (different football) , he didn't fit the tactical game as he was more an attack minded FB.
Well Cafu was even a Brazil international at that time, but I see it as a good example that players can improve with age. Football has evolved and is more of a team sport than it used to be. Not every fb has to be a top dribbler like Marcelo to be considerd a top player.

^^
I thought Hysaj, Memushaj & Sadiku are, what am i missing here?!
And tbh Gdb should entertain the idea of trying Hysaj as a rw, if Veseli gets regular PT as rb at Empoli. And keep Roshi as a supersub.

^^ Why not? - Ferguson did it with Valencia at United, and Valencia only has speed and it was successful for quite a while, so yeah, could work out.

You guys are crazy. Hysaj doesn't have any characteristics to play as a RW/winger. For starters he's not offensive minded at all, he prefers to play it safe. He's a very traditional old fashioned fullback. He has average speed and doesn't have much dribble either. Sure maybe he has a higher footballing IQ than all of our offensive players but that's not enough. We'd struggle crossing the half way line if he moves up forward. Someone like Lenjani and Agolli are more suited to get moved forward than Hysaj.

Agolli is only good going forward against minnows like Armenia and Malta as he has all the time time in the world to get forward and has time to put in crosses(he has a very good left foot) but against the strong he teams he doesn't have time on the ball and he shits himself with the simplest of passes.
As for Hysaj he's been our best offensive player and has had a few assists as of late with us with his long ball passing. That's literally our entire threat. A long ball pass from Hysaj to Sadiku. He makes good runs going forwad as well. Can't judge him at Napoli as I haven't watched any of their matches.
I posted a 3-5-2 formation before that I think is our best lineup.
--------Sadiku-Balaj(Gashi)
----------Memushaj
-------Xhaka-Abrashi
Lenjani----------------Hysaj
----Mavraj-Ajeti-Gym(Veseli)
-----------Berisha

Hysaj would get raped as RWB. WBs need to be very good in 1 v. 1s. That's Hysaj's weakness. He's more of a tactical defender, rather than individual.

Lmao you call that offense? A hail mary cross from Hysaj to Sadiku from 60 yards out? It might work once in 50 games.

Yes, Hysaj's long passing has been our only offense for the past few months. He had had several quality passes that should have ended up as assists in the Euro tournament as well(A few against Switzerland but Sadiku and Gashi were missing chance after chance).
It shouldn't be that way but it is unfortunately.
