The league/level he plays in is shady to say the least but his technical ability is a no doubt. Always stood out in u-21 games too.

I believe multiple injures have hurt his career so far. It would be great to see him make a comeback.

He isn’t good enough for the NT and i’m quite surprised that he isn’t part of the Nt because his daddy is “mish e dhjam” with Duka and the FA. You could also notice it the influence they have on journalists aswell. Slovenian league is way below Croatia. He isn’t playing at a big Slovenian club like Maribor either so scoring those long range shots or some taping against some village teams doesn’t make you good for the NT.
He's playing for the top club in Slovenia. Usually leagues like Slovenia are amateurish but generally the top 2-3 teams are professional and actually qualify for CL/EL on the regular. These teams usually have a decent record of producing players as well. Maribor, Olimpia (Cekici's team) and that one other team are on the same quality of teams in Croatia so the drop off ain't that big.

I don't like the influence that former superliga players like Bushi, Jupi, Bogdani, Salihi, etc, have in player selections but Cekici deserves it. We have second league players in Cikaleshi and Ramadani starting regular. Players like Qose, Prenga, Aliji playing for random teams around Europe. If we're gonna deny Cekici because he plays in Slovenia we should then just stop calling up Cikaleshi, Ramadani and Qose which I'm actually fine with.

Cekici has a nice long range shot and seems like he's an attacking threat. He doesn't score tap ins like the Llallaku, Balaj and Cika do against village teams/leagues. Cekici passes the eye test and I see offensive talent in him. His problem is that he doesn't fit Reja's system at all and he might not be a pitbull winger who tracks back and plays defense (Lila). Realistically he can only play the attacking midfield position and will he get a game over Bare, Ndoj, Xhaka, etc? He's definitely not Reja's version of a forward but maybe in a 5-3-2 he can be a supporting striker?

But he should be capped up. If he was 28 I'd say there's no point but there's a realistic chance he moves to a bigger league soon.

So pretty much like the rest of our team?

Not necessarily. We just don’t have forwards to play 2 strikers.
