It was because of Berisha/Cana/Mavraj we started winning away games for the first time in history against decent teams ( starting that Norway game). That's what allowed us to qualify for EUROs with a bit of luck.

Since Hysaj was inserted in the team the backline started looking solid for the first time....ever. That's why I hate all the slander and disrespect he gets.. Albania used to get raped on that right side historically... amateur mistakes left and right until Hysaj came.

Mavraj definitely brought some professionalism too but technically he was a mid/bottom league player at best...He just seemed good for our low standards. Someone like Kumbulla is a massive upgrade over Mavraj.

Yeah, but Hysaj is still playing, which is why I only mentioned that central core. Those guys either retired or are on the brink.
