Irony at its finest. Kosova misses out on UNESCO membership by just 3 votes. All the muslim states voted against its membership :lol:

By all you're including the likes of Turkey too? Imo when your country's foreign affairs are headed by someone like H. Thaqi then failing is no surprise.

What does Thaci have to do with UNESCO? This is an organization that protects and funds archaeological and historical monuments, artefacts, cities, etc..

All the Arab states went against their membership. They needed 2/3rd of the votes, and missed out by 3. These are the same states that heavily fund tens of millions for Islamic centers, mosques, propaganda, but refuse to let the discovery and studying of the Thraco-Illyrian archaeological horizon be funded by UNESCO.

    Here's why this is a blessing in disguise for Kosova:

    A) Hopefully this will open their eyes as to why they should distance themselves from their Islamic "brothers"

    B) These type of votes could lead to unification with Albania. Call me crazy I know but here's why;
    • Kosova will never be returned to Serbia.
      Kosova may not be able to function as a country at the same time
      Thus, although our government also has it's problem, unification with Kosova would help the state run better :mrgreen:

    One can make the argument that the political leadership doesn't represent the true will of the people. Let's be real they voted against Kosova because they see us as an American puppet and they are aligned with Russia. Therefore, they will vote with Russia on any issue(not just this case) when it's Russia vs USA/Saudi Arabia/Israel.

    And barely anyone from Kosova(or ex-yugo) looks at them as brothers. Everyone I know thinks they're bunch of cave dwelling morons that are stuck in the 8th century.

    Imo. I know what UNESCO is about. But this is Kosova we are talking about, everything becomes political so this was a political battle and it was voted that way.

    Thaci is the head of Kosova's diplomacy. Applying for membership, while not knowing the total votes you'll get and if it's enough to get accepted is amateurish, and mind you this is no entertainment contest. Kosova has everything to gain, while Serbia has nothing to lose, big difference.
