I believe we may have struck gold with Broja.. I cannot remember the last time I have been so excited about an Albanian player.Simboli i Diellit wrote: Sat Oct 31, 2020 11:00 pm “He has height, speed, a wonderful technique and a killer instinct as well. We desperately need to attract some solid, young midfielders to start building a team around him.. Armando BOMBER

Bogdani relaunched his career in Zagreb after miserable failure in Turkish Division. How is possible that he ended in Top 4 league through croatian village league?Dallku wrote: Sat Oct 31, 2020 11:38 pmartan wrote: Sat Oct 31, 2020 11:24 pm
If he can become like Patrick Bamford (ex chelsean loanee) than that would be amazing for us. He doesn't have to be Lewandowski or Higuain.
That's why I said that if he has a Bogdani like career it will be a great thing. A starting striker in a top 4 league is no joke. It's high professional level and guarantees that we have a legit starting striker.
Sure we want him to be world class but that's not realistic. That's like hitting the lottery. Albania never had a world class player.. ever. Nevermind striker.

Wrote this a few weeks back on Broja. If you're already a top/world class player, playing for Albania won't help you. But if you're a developing player, playtime even for Albania is CRUCIAL. This is where Januzaj fucked up imo. Late teens/early 20s are what makes/breaks players. Januzaj spent it on the bench both Belgium/Man U.
Reja gave Broja his first ever professional starts as a footballer. That's without a doubt helping his career in Holland as well.

Aurora Bulkualis wrote: Tue Oct 20, 2020 12:14 am I find it funny that Broja although less talented than Januzaj, is doing all the right moves. Instead of rotting on the bench in EPL, he goes to Dutch league to improve his skills. And instead of rotting on the bench with Belgium, those games with Albania massively helped, especially since going from youth leagues -> EPL is an almost impossible task. He literally got his first professional start with Albania.
Januzaj missed professional playing time at the most crucial phase of his career, and severely stunted his growth. With Albania, he would have had a ton of playing time given our offence, and improve his decision making much earlier in his career. In EPL you're just facing beasts all the time. With Albania you face Moldovas, Andorras, or Slovakias and Greeces. All sorts of level of competition to iron out your playing style.

Januzaj went to the World Cup with Belgium and scored against England (although garbage unnecessary goal) and they made the semis. Can't blame him for picking Belgium over us. I only begrudge him ad his father being a cunt during the whole saga.Aurora Bulkualis wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2020 4:09 amJanuzaj missed professional playing time at the most crucial phase of his career, and severely stunted his growth. Keidi Bare scored against Liverpool in a friendly too with Atletico. But Atletico never even gave him a chance. What matters is consistent playing time.Plako wrote: Mon Nov 02, 2020 5:36 pmJanuzaj went to the World Cup with Belgium and scored against England (although garbage unnecessary goal) and they made the semis. "Moments" barely matter in player development. You need to be playing consistently.

Scoring in a preseason friendly is totally not the same as bursting on to the scene with a team like United at 18/19 and probably being their POTY. Januzaj had so much talent and was being touted as the best player his generation. He had ample playing time his first season and even his second season. His problem was that he didn't have the work ethic or IQ to realize his potential. In a different world maybe Sir Alex never retired and made Januzaj fight his spot in that 13/14 United squad and Januzaj never had so much hype.Aurora Bulkualis wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 12:58 amKeidi Bare scored against Liverpool in a friendly too with Atletico. Any way you slice it, he didn't get consistent playing time in the most important years of his career. Saying he started for a few months or he scored a goal with Belgium B vs. England B proves my point.
Those years are CRUCIAL for development and you need to be playing 90 minutes week in and out.

You don’t need to be playing 90mins every week and he was given the #11 shirt and plenty of chances .

Ultimately Januzaj just wasn't good enough. Talented youngsters will always get overhyped because of their age and potential but the amount who reach that top top level is very small.
