Albanian National Team [General topic]

With memories of the golden years (80's) of the albanian football still fresh on her mind, Albania is now attempting to recreate its strong football legacy. As young players start making their names abroad, the future is looking bright for Albanian football!

I think it’s clear the FSHF have a fixation on Italian football. It’s one thing if they were Serie A players but they’re all, with the exception of Memushaj, fringe Serie B players. We called up the likes of Llallaku and Aliji when they were bench players for one of the worst teams in Serie B. I also think they have a lesser obsession with Greek football. It probably has to do with our countries connection with those two countries and how Albanians love Italians/Greeks.

I’d go with something like this for the matches:

————Manaj
Lenjani————Grezda
—-——Ndoj—Xhaka
—————Basha
Binaku—Mavraj—Veseli—Hysaj
—————Strakosha

Not a terrible lineup but I think we can expect Ramadani or Lila to start in the midfield.

This Domgjoni kid seemed really good today against Ludogorets.

If ramadani is in the formation tomorrow as reported, friendly or not panucci should get fired before the game even starts...What’s wrong with this guy???

I don’t really care who he lines up against Jordan. They’ve below kategoria superiore level players. The test will be in Israel and against Scotland at home. Panucci is getting a lot of critics not only because our expectations after Euro 2016 are high but because he hasn’t been good in managing the atmosphere inside the team either. I’m expecting Hysaj to get the captain armband and Mavraj-Berisha as vice-captains . No surprises if we end up last in our group , that would push Duka to fire Panucci and get a coach with experience. Now it seems they’ve to start over rebuilding thenteam again if we fail going to the Euro’s as Basha, Memushaj, Mavraj and co will be too old for the next WC qualifiers.

It won’t matter who the coach if the talent is not there. This team is still relying on the declining players from the Euro 2016 squad who were average to begin with. The only players in our starting 11 that play consistently in a top league is Hysaj and Strakosha. Grezda our apparently best attacker is a bench player in scotland, Balaj hasn’t scored a goal from open play in ages, Gavazaj is a bench player in Siberia, Binaku a bench player in sweden, Gymcity a bench player for average Italian team, etc.. You know we are fucked when the journalists and manager are saying they’re waiting for Roshi and Sadiku to come back for the team to be complete.

This team needs a makeover from top to bottom and we constantly fail to recruit new talented players. It’s why Di Biasi, a man with limited tactics, was successful for us. He called up an insane amount of new players in the first few years until he found a batch that worked collectively as a group.

^ Atalanta is no joke. They are a pretty solid Serie a team. Mavraj and Ajeti are starting to play so that's positive. Veseli is also a starter in Serie a as a LB.

Pannuci is trying to do the same thing DB did - call up a bunch of players with the hope that something sticks but his evaluation of these players is questionable at best. Some callups like Gavazaj, Ramadani, etc.. are pointless. These have no potential at all. No talent or anything. You're better off getting Skela and Lala out of retirement than giving these amateurs any minutes.

I still can't get over the Uzuni thing(it's the same with Gavazaj). So all of a sudden he's NT material because he moved to some shitty Croatian team?? This is a guy who couldn't play for the u-21.. I hope I'm wrong and he performs but I have a good idea how good he is.

You look at someone like Lorenc Trashi who plays in Albania he's nowhere near NT consideration.... at least until he moves to some random village team abroad.

The whole point of tinkering is to see what works and what doesn't. Panucci tinkers with stuff that's working. You need some sort of core/chemistry.
