I think it's cause once he plays, he'll be officially registered or something. Koeman wants another striker.

Barca probably won't give him minutes till the transfer window ends, if he plays with that number he locks it in for the season, so Koeman probably has that in mind - he sent him to warmup twice and didn't sub him on lol, altho it also could be because Koeman just doesn't pull the trigger on anything.

However we should see his first minutes soon, Griezmann and Braithwaite were terrible out there

Southampton struggled a lot last year . It’s a long year ahead and getting some mins in the PL is better than anything else .

This. Broja will have to perform really well to break into the starting eleven. Why would Southampton to develop a loanee for him to only go back to Chelsea at years end? They have their own young strikers that that they want to take a look at first.

He should have went on a loan to buy option deal to some team. Atleast, that way there’s an incentive for the team to play him.
