It's not that crazy if you think about it. Italy has called Argentines and Brazilians of Italian ancestry. I don't know about these specific players but my understanding is that their ancestors came from Kosove. It'd be the same if Kosova calls Shaqiri's grandson 40 years from now.

Exactly. Shaqiri himself is not coming, let alone his future kid. :D

Italy has called Brazilians and Argentines that played in Italy. Uysal? Who the hell is this guy? Born in Turkey, certainly not an Albanian name. So fucking random.

Maybe it's a political move too. They want minorities and foreigners in their team so they can show Europe, "hey, look how tolerant we are." I think most Slavs they approach will refuse them... unless they are Bosniaks maybe and have no other alternatives.

Ermal Kuqo, born in Korce, got naturalized in turkey and changed his last name to Kurtoglu. Nothing crazy about it. There was massive deportation and emigration of Albanians from Kosove to Turkey in the 20th century especially in between the world wars.

Perparim Hetemaj declined to play in the wcq vs Kosova. That's respectable eventhough this means he won't play for Kosova. And neither will any of the Swiss guys or the others that are starting for other Nts. I'll be massively surprised if Januzaj decides to play for us.

Berisha brothers of Norway declined too.
Let's see if what will the Montenegro guy do.

Surprised if Hetemaj doesn't switch. He always seemed like a huge Kosovar patriot and the first guy would would switch. Good gesture by him refusing to play against his native nation tho.

On the bright side they got Arber Zeneli. The offense is taking shape with Zeneli, Bernard Berisha, Shala, Rashica, Meha, Halimi, Brahimi, the 2 Man City youth, Bunjaku, Muriqi(from Turkey). Not the highest quality but they can be competitive.

PLayers I thought would switch for sure:

Hetemaj
Beqiraj
Tarashaj

Surprised that they are not doing it so far with the deadline approaching.

Well it looks like any player eligible to play for Kosova but in the plans of another NT did not make the switch. At least this should put to rest excuses used by some players that Duka asked them for money, not that I would put that past Duka, he is a crook after all.
