Macedonia already won the World Cup when they smoked Italy in Palermo.

Congratulations to them all!

It's a loser's mentality. Unfortunately a lot of Albanians think like this. "Moral victories"

It’s a bit more than that. Moral victory is thinking losing 1-0 to Poland in a must win home game is a good result.

Beating Germany, qualifying for a WC playoff spot and beating Italy is impressive. They should be proud of it.

Ultimately they didn't qualify, and that's what matters. In terms of the group , they had an easy group and only got 1 more point than us. I'd say on balance our results were around the same.

Then a 1 off game vs Italy ofc is a great moment but meant nothing in the end

Portugal has mastered the art of playoffs. They 're in the playoffs every single time :)

I had 50 on Portugal and US wining by at least 2 goals each.

A bunch of scrubs playing in “the depths of Europe” came into Albania last night and took a draw with 1 of 11 top leaguers in starting lineup, while the home side had 8 of 11.

Georgia has a valid claim to a penalty as well, with that Roshi challenge from behind. I have read many comments of naive Albanian fans who expected to run these men over, simply on the basis of our high market value. The typical “Djimsiti and Kumbulla are worth more than their whole team” argument..

Even the oddsmakers respected visitors enough to suggest a positive result more than 1 of 2 times for them (~55% via Bet365). Wake up people! It is not about which club you play for, but what you do for your country!

Based on this logic teams like Georgia and Belarus should have just as much chances of qualifying as teams like Serbia, Croatia etc.. but that's not the case.

Georgia played Albania the same way Albania played Spain... like the smaller team. Of course anyone can draw against anyone on a good day but it's the overall consistency and potential that proves higher level. It takes talent to qualify because you actually have to win games.

Macedonia became competitive when they started getting top leaguers (Alioski, Elmas, Bardhi)
Montenegro was competitive when they HAD top leaguers... Not anymore because that generation is finished.
Iceland was competitive when they had top leaguers. Not anymore because that generation is finished.

Georgia has absolutely no chance of qualifying because they have a bunch of scrubs playing in “the depths of Europe”. They might upset or draw once in a while like Albania used to do but they are not a serious team.
