Sylvinho said clearly in his press conference that current form does not mean everything to him and his team. He values those who can give a good performance with the NT, regardless of minutes played for club.

Asani is favoured for his left foot on the right wing..

Respect to Cikalleshi for retiring. Maybe 4-5 years too late but better late than never. At least he didn't drag it like others have done it in the past.

As for the criticism Sylvinho is getting by journalists, it's a shame but it was expected. Albanians (journalists in this case) care more about their friends making it than what's best for the team. But maybe they don't understand what's best for the team. Probably a combination of both.

Sylvinho is not perfect himself because he shows favoritism to Asani who hasn't played in 2 years and is not even a professional player but for the most part that list makes a lot of sense... especially considering the opponents.

26 man list yet he drops an all time scorer who has started every match until we clinched, and one our biggest success stories who went from 2nd Albanian league to tearing up La Liga (and every other league he played in until now). Uzuni scored at Spain last time out and at times, he has been one of our best players!

Who did he drop them for?

Random guys with minimal contribution like Arber Hoxha, Medon Berisha, etc. Then to rub salt in the wound, he has the nerve to say he wanted Arbnor Mucolli there too but he was injured. 😂😂😂

Very harsh, very ruthless, unbelievable for me!

That being said, full respect to our coach Sylvinho for his accomplishments. The decisions are his to make and he has earned our trust. I hope the “new” additions will turn out to be impact players for us going forward!

What Sylvinho has done completely blows that out the water!

Cikalleshi has retired from the NT..

He finishes as the 4th leading scorer in history with 13 goals. Thank you for everything Sokol and good luck in your retirement!

Cikalleshi had his time and should now retire from the NT.
Of course from a personal perspective you have to feel bad for him. But his time with the NT was done. Chances are we're not getting out of this group so maybe Sylvinho is thinking ahead of the Word Cup qualifiers which should start next Spring and wants to give the younger guys a chance to get some experience. If Broja, Muci and Daku are healthy we should be good up front.

Keidi was good but constant injuries ruined him. For someone like him who was a pitbull in midfield it's all about aggressiveness and he couldn't do it anymore. That's why he's stuck in the 2nd division now.

Abrashi and Gjasula bring a little experience but lets be honest, it's an act of desperation by Sylvinho because he knows the midfield is very bad as the last 2 friendlies against actual good teams showed.
With Abrashi it’s good to also have someone who was there last time , add some experience so they’re not totally headless going into the games.

Can Mergim Berisha still be capped? Doesn't seem like he's played any official games for Germany.

The guy is 26 and still waiting to play for Germany :lol:
