A lot of staple guys are falling off or getting old, and we have no real youth of note coming through so far. I guess, as usual, youth players tend to pop out, so we never know, but we are getting older at some important positions.

Who's getting old besides Djimsiti and Hysaj? And they both should have at least 1 more qualifiers in them if they want it..

Everyone else is mid 20s and younger.

New players always pop out.. most of the time out of nowhere.

Does anyone know what the deal is with Zhegrova and his passport? Does he not have a German passport? Why does he need an Albanian passport?

The only hope for a team to do well is for some billionaire oligarch like Mane or Kastrati to buy a team, but they don't seem interested at all in sports.

That’s our whole country

mountains , sea , everything sold off to oligarchs

hyper capitalism everywhere

greed by all

non stop corruption and a very stupid population who aren’t serious at all

I have little hope for our nations football team or anything outside of it

Owners don't own teams for entertainment, but to make a quick buck. Even the good teams sell their best players right away. Dinamo made more money from European qualifiers than selling their 2 best players this summer, but they still got rid of them and kneecapped their own chances to qualify for groups.
Mentality straight from Babylon!

Take, take, take, turn a profit wherever you can!

Dallku wrote: Wed Aug 27, 2025 8:48 pm You guys keep bringing up FSHF but it's FFK who they are refusing not FSHF. Albania is not even approaching these players like Avdullahu. The invite was apparently fake/photoshopped. So is FFK corrupt too or should they play for them?

You can't blame Duka for FFK..

That's why this Avdullahu case is extremely rare. There are more players who were part of Kosovo and left(like Besfort Zeneli, Edvin Kurtulus, etc) than there are players who rejected other countries to play for Kosovo. Avdullahu is a unicorn along with Valon Berisha.

So why are they refusing Kosovo so much? Imagine players like Ardon Jashari playing for Kosovo. It would be one of the best teams in the Balkans.

Jashari isn't eligible for Kosovo as his parents are from Macedonia. He'd be only eligible for Albania. And most players refuse Kosovo for the same reason they refuse Albania. They play the waiting game to see if they can play for Switzerland or Germany and when they find out they can't they come crawling. Ironically, Avdullah probably would have been part of the Swiss team in some kind of capacity so him committing now is a surprise.

Turp indeed , Dzemalli you’re a mercenary , Switzerland don’t care for you, the west doesn’t care for us, worry about your own people. Literally encouraging people not play for Albania or Kosove ? go f*** yourself
Lets be real FSHF doesn't care about these players either. Whatever prize money, ticket sales, etc, that these players earn for Albania goes straight to Duka and the corrupt inner circle.

These guys should play for the nation that is the best for their careers.
Albania isn't shit at football because of corruption, let's be real.
Every balkan country has corruption but with Albania it seems like it's more than that. From the domestic club owners, to how players are developed.. It's like the whole thing needs to be nuked from bottom up. The last decent player Albania has produced was Ernest Muci and before that was Uzuini. Literally one of the worst countries in Europe when it comes to player development. Even the Kosovar teams have started to produced okay players.

Having all the diaspora players play for Albania is a double edge sword. Without them Albania would be total ass and thats when maybe real change starts to occur?

Bang on!

Come play for Albania who offered nothing to your development as an athlete!

If you succeed, you will fill the pockets of FSHF and it will be sold as political victory!

If you fail, Albanian fans treat you no better than the fans in a diaspora country!

Come on man..

Better to work hard and try to crack the Swiss team where you can be a regular at the World Cup/EURO.

You can be the next big star and a hero like Granit Xhaka or Xherdan Shaqiri!

Not to mention the pride of giving back to those who gave so much to you!
This is a ridiculous take.
