Sugar Ray Manaj scored as Sivasspor lost at Hatayspor..

Uzuni played 90 minutes as Austin beat LAFC on the road. Uzuni is yet to score in MLS..

According to some rumours Arijon Ibrahimovic decided to join Albania.

Hopefully its true because most likely he will end up playing for us or Kosova anyway, might as well be now instead of in 6 years.

On paper it seems like we're going into the qualifier with a lot of players on form

The wrong players are in form. (If you even count scoring in those amateur leagues as form)

Albania will play without fullbacks against England. Mitaj and Hysaj will miss the game for sure, Balliu is available but he has lost his spot in Rayo and probably regressing as a player.

Ismajli pretty sure will miss too but at least Kumbulla is in form and can match up with Harry Kane well.

Keep an eye on Djimsiti a week before international break... Hopefully he doesn't continue his pattern

Strakosha lost his spot at AEK after terrible performances and he's the only gk Albania has lool.... This is looking like another 5-0

Will be interesting to see if Medon Berisha starts..
Doesn’t matter who starts against England, they’re both useless. I think Uzuni at least offers some pressing, better start him or Muci as false nine.

Asani BTW is having an insane start to the season with his South Korean club (he didn't end up moving in the end).

10 goals and an assist in 11 games.

On paper it seems like we're going into the qualifier with a lot of players on form, and even though Daku was really bad when we started him, his great form can't be ignored, so I think he gets the nod over Manaj (also considering Manaj was knocked out today after jumping for a header, he is recovering ok but it isn't clear if he'll be available).

It seems like Broja is done as a player, it's been 3 full years since he was last fully fit, I really hope he can come back and help us for this campaign but it seems unlikely.

artan wrote: Fri Mar 07, 2025 4:38 am Every national team makes efforts to cap up talented dual nationality players. Even countries like Germany, france, etc. You think Albania is special where they don't need to? Give me a break. Have fun with Seferi and Suga Rey leading the lines for the next decade.
Seferi is a fetish player that has nothing to do with the quality of the squad. But Manaj has achieved 10x more in his life than Vata has accomplished. He's played in games with both Inter and Barcelona, even if the latter were friendlies. He's led Turkish goalscoring division with Mauro Icardi and Edin Dzeko.

For all his shortcomings, he's still way more accomplished than Vata.
You are the king of contrarian takes. Manaj has always been a complete trash player and you know it. He's played a total of 50 minutes for Inter and never played a minute for Barcelona. He's flopped at every single mid to lower table Serie B and La Liga 2 he's been on. He's even been on the seam team Vata currently plays for and was bad that they broke his contract midseason. Manaj is lucky that Mancini was nice enough to give him a few late minute subs for Inter or else he'd be playing in the Turkish second division by now (he'll be playing there next year regardless).
The irony is that a lot of our attackers moved to the Turkish league and are flopping.

Muci is playing for Besiktas and has 4 goals this season so far. Seferi has 3. Muja has 2.

And Manaj had 18 last season, and 7 so far this season, playing with a mid table club. That isn't nothing especially if a player like Muci is struggling to score there.

He is improving as a player but its simply much later than players usually do. He isn't amazing but he isn't garbage as you make out.

Our team is in great form heading into quals. Djimsiti is starting for Atalanta regularly as they push for Scudetto, Asllani is starting some games as well, Mehmeti (who likely will be called up) is having a great season in the Championship, Daku is having a great season with Rubin Kazan and should be the starting striker, Mitaj is doing very well at Ittihad.

However there are some of our attackers that are really out of form, Muci in particular is really struggling at Besiktas, and Bajrami is having a terrible season for Rangers.

Uzuni started and had a decent game as Austin lost 0-1 to Colorado.

71 minutes, 4 shots, 2 of them on target..

7.0 rating

Is Vata good enough to have a spot on the NT? Are guys like Seferi, Hoxha, Asani, Uzuini, Muja better? The fact he's only 19 and a regular in a good enough league should be enough to warrant a call up for Albania.

It shouldn't be a hard decision. Offer him a senior NT call up. Offering a u21 call up is an intentional way for him to decline and for FSHF to go to the media that he's not interested. If he doesn't accept then it's on him and has camp and everyone moves on.

He seems similar to Anis Mehmeti in position and play style but as Cana said, Mehmeti has way better stats than Vata. So if Mehmeti can't get in the Albanian squad then Vata has even less chances....

Ultimately it's all more or less the same level as the Seferis, Hoxhas, Mujas... It's not worth being disappointed about players like that not choosing Albania.
Anis should be with the Senior NT and should be in contention for a starting spot. Albania isn't in a position where they can afford to drop out quality players like Mehmeti and Vata and both should be called up. Albania does not have the luxury where they can be selective with talented players.
