Is he like let’s say top 20 in the world in his weight class?
Not even close!

He is ranked 135 in the world by BoxRec but should climb higher with the victory tonight.

Independent governing bodies such as the IBF have their own rankings though.

Flawless victory!

That was the culmination of a life’s work for the former gold medalist and undisputed cruiserweight champion, Usyk!

The underdog and smaller man came up in weight and beat the reigning champion from pillar to post, in his own back garden!

Congratulations to the Ukrainian!

AJ is a fraud who did nothing to earn all the acclaim and money he got from boxing other than beating a washed Klitschko in his backyard. Ruiz who is a B-level fighter beat him around the ring, had to take it to saudi to win a boring decision for the rematch, now he loses again to Usyk who is much smaller than him and a career cruiser.

This is a very ignorant comment. Losing to Usyk is nothing to be ashamed of. The only thing these guys have on him is size because he's the best boxer . Unified the cruiserweights and could do the same at HW. A real champ.

As for AJ, he's earned everything, fought everyone , defending his belts and not cowered away from his duties unlike Wilder and Fury.

Joshua has fought a who’s who of washed up has beens! He only challenged Klitschko after Fury put an end to his 11 year undefeated streak and 19 fight title reign in middle of Dusseldorf and mentally destroyed him!

Fury took 3 years off to snort coke, ballooning up to 29 stone and still he came back to beat undefeated champion Wilder in America! He did this with only 2 warmup fights under his belt (Seferi and Pianeta).

AJ is product of terrific management by Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing, who deserve a big round of applause for their success with him!

Much like your football takes this is horrific but expected coming from America.

AJ has fought all his mandatories so you cant blame him , he's fought everyone in the top 10 and defended his belts. Somehow you're praising Fury for never defending his belts and beating only Klitchko and Wilder (who's record is full of binmen). Always gotta find a way to minimise AJ's achievements. Its pathetic.

Joshua and his handlers were avoiding Wilder like the plague for years.

Those belts AJ was defending belong to the Lineal Champion Tyson Fury, the man who never lost them inside the ring!

Can't blame him is different from him being top-level. His two top-level fighters are a 41 year old Klitschko that he went life and death with then Usyk who beat him up in his backyard. Then throw in Andy Ruiz, a 6 foot obese man who was beaten by Parker, he lost to him.

If you are a boxing fan you will understand the notion of belts and mandatories meaning anything is kind of getting defunct. Most mandatories are not even competitive fights anymore and to see a fighter like Usyk be mandatory is a once in a blue moon type thing. And what do you know he lost to him, and was outclassed

The Fury fight has not happened because AJ has kept slipping on banana skins. First Ruiz who he should have dispatched easily that knocked him down 4 times and then Usyk beat him up in his backyard. AJ is struggling to hold onto his belts. Even B level competition like Ruiz is not a certain win.

Maybe this time they'll take the rematch to Cuba
Drini

The Brits have a thing for hyping their athletes. I've never understood just how Joshua has become champ and how he has maintained his belts. He's always looked lazy and heartless for me. He's afraid to get knocked out and it's so obvious. Usyk was amazing. Still hate that a slav has won the belts tho.
