Denmark was dogshit.
By what measure was Hungary in 2021 a better opponent than Denmark in 2014-15..?

Rankings:
Denmark.. first match 27th, 2nd match 22nd.
Hungary.. 37th both matches.

Pre-match odds:
Albania - Hungary (~32%, ~33%, ~35%)
Hungary - Albania (~41, ~33%, ~27%)

Albania - Denmark (~26%, ~30%, ~45%)
Denmark - Albania (~58%, ~26%, ~16%)

You are talking wild..

You are splitting hairs with 2016 Denmark and current Hungary. Current Hungary is probably better than they were.

The reality is the biggest hallmark of that campaign was the CAS judgement, not a dozen ranking spaces between Hungary and Denmark.

And when we got to the Euros, which was a golden opportunity to cap up all the young talents who could play for Kosovo (Rrahmani, Rashica, Muriqi etc...) DB didn't look after our future and instead called up a ton of his teachers pets to try and get to the next round. We're lucky we didn't lose Djimsiti as well from his stupidness. He blew a golden opportunity to build the foundations of our NT for the future.

You realize that less than a dozen ranking spaces separated Hungary and Poland..

Climb up into the top 30 and it is a different beast, as Albania learned the hard way.

There is nothing more overrated than De Biasi and that 16 campaign.

With that same team and tactics De Biasi was beaten by Israel and Macedonia in the qualifiers right after... It's almost like he was nothing without wins from courts and Duka's euros.

Can't believe there are people still defending bunker football. History has shown time and time again that stuff doesn't work long term. If you have a super motivated, super organized team you can luck into achieving something once like Albania qualifying in 2016, or Greece winning 2004 EUROs. But both those teams had a lot of stuff outside of their control go their way as well. And both faltered immediately after.

Once you squeeze the f*** out of that lemon, it has no more juice after.

I won't be surprised if Broja scores more than goal today. It will be hard for Dawson and Diop to cope with Broja's pace.

Broja won a important penalty today.

Becoming clear that he is going to be a massive goal threat at any level. One of those players who comes alive when engaging defenders and latching onto through balls. He can make something out of nothing. Rare to see him start without a goal contribution.

A must start for Albania in every game, exactly the type of player the NT has needed for decades now.

Broja made guys like Declan Rice who has been WC this season look silly. Just another reminder Reja was chatting shit about him in the media a few days ago and started Balaj (Who still hasn't scored this calendar year) over him.

Best all around performance by Broja on the Southampton jersey. Today showed tactical awareness, workrate and in the end they got three points.

That penalty he earned was typical of him. Getting the ball in the center of midfield and going beast mode. He knows he's bigger and faster than anyone.
