I think Kumbulla should be starting, but Ismajli is starting with his team too. I think it will be Djim-Ismajli.

I think so too, Ismajli was the captain last week of his team vs their win against Roma.

But the bigger question I want to know is what was the point of benching Ismajli at the Euros in place of Ajeti, only for Slyvinho not to call Ajeti up for the nation league games lol ?

Ajeti's injured. But at the EUROs that was 100% the right call. Ajeti was the only proven player at the EUROs, and I'd say he was the best defender overall.

Ajeti is way past it!

In the first two games (Italy, Croatia), he won a combined 1 of 4 ground duels, and 2 of 11 aerial duels!

He was completely disoriented on every cross into the zone. Just go check the Bastoni goal and see how he marks absolutely no one.

What happened to Ismajli (the guy who at the time had scored our only goal ever against Italy) was a shame!

Over 3 games none of the goals were his fault. Cut the shit.

Ajeti was solid. At the very least he didn't make any major mistakes but still bizarre that he started over Ismajli and Kumbulla in all 3 games.

Selections are so weird and suspect now that I wouldn't be surprised if Enea Mihaj starts over them in the next games too.

He started Ajeti short-term for his experience and the fact he was outstanding at our only other Euros appearance. Now the Euros is over, he doesn't see a long term spot for him in the team.

Simple. No corruption or anything suspicious there.

Kumbulla is likely the better player but let's not act like he earned a spot, just like Broja, they are living off what they did as teenagers, when in reality they haven't shown much at club level for a long time.

After seeing how Kumbulla played during the final stretch of the season for Sassuolo and possibly played a part in costing them survival it's understandable to go with Ajeti who had a previous strong showing in this tournament and is very experienced.

Indeed, Ajeti was solid and did well enough.

Bastoni goal was his fault..

He was marking fresh air in the box!

What are you guys talking about “he was solid.”

He was one of our lowest rated players in the tourney winning only 33% of total duels (40% ground duels, 31% aerial duels), and losing possession on average 6 times a game.

6.7 average rating.

Meanwhile, they benched a young lion like Ismajli who had just had a great campaign and scored a supergol against Italy.

Abrashi has great experience too. Why he not starting?

That’s no justification for this..
