Vrioni is a limited player so this isn’t a shock or anything. Anyone who watched him know he doesn’t have real potential.

MLS has improved over the years so this actually is a upgrade from Austria.

MLS is like a shittier version of Turkey. So it's better than 2nd division Turkey I guess? 😆

The icing on the cake would have been if he really went to a 2nd division Turkish team.

I don’t think there’s much of a difference between Turkey and the MLS.

The thing about MLS is that scouting has increased and they’ve been exporting more players over the years. If Vrioni excels he will get offers in Europe in a few years. But he’ll have to excel.

So out of the whole continent of Europe nobody is willing to spend 4m+ on the top scorer of Austria??

This is the perfect example that goals are not as valued as some people think. It's HOW you get to those goals.

Broja for example is not valued for his goals. He's valued for his unique combination of pace/size which promises more potential than a tap-in merchant of the Salihi/Gashi/Vrioni/Kapllani type.

These teams are not stupid, we can all see how limited he is. Asllani got picked up and given the 14 shirt by Inter a few months after his debut at Empoli. This guy was at Juve and no one would touch him, shows teams just don't rate him.

How do you know he didn't just reject those offers?? You guys act like top league clubs have some huge standards. You can find plenty of players much worse than Vrioni in clubs like Norwich or Alaves. The DP he's replacing (Buksa) shit on us in our two games against Poland. Pretty ironic that we laugh.

You are assuming it was his only choice, why don't you consider he may have just picked big wages in America over warming the bench at some relegation team? He's being given the DP which means he's gonna be on some good money there, he may just not be very ambitious and is cashing in on this good season.

Whereas Getafe was probably offering him a third or less of the wages, and if he flops there he'll never be offered that money again. There's more than just 'top league clubs' from the players side.

Good move by Vrioni..

MLS is a good league and New England has a solid team. Looking forward to watching him tear it up in North America.

You're on copium if you think that this MLS is offering him some high wages that any European team couldn't at least match. He's getting Jahmir Hyka MLS wages not Lorenzo insigne ones.

His decision makes no sense because it also sacrifices his NT career. Besides the long distance the MLS season starts/finishes at completely different times than European leagues so he'll be on vacation and out of form for November NT games(for example).

So it makes no logical sense other than no European team wanted him.

You'd be surprised. New England literally pay 4 mill a year to Jozy Altidore who has 1 MLS goal this season.

Whereas Spezia for example, are letting go of their captain because they can't afford to pay him 1 mill a year.

I don't think any relegation team is offering Vrioni more than like 400k a year. Its very possible he is doubling that and more in MLS right now.

The salaries are made public so I guess we will see soon.
