With memories of the golden years (80's) of the albanian football still fresh on her mind, Albania is now attempting to recreate its strong football legacy. As young players start making their names abroad, the future is looking bright for Albanian football!

Its not really insane, we have a possible striker in Uzuni who is very proven to score a bunch of goals at club level, Broja has not proven anything.
Broja needs to start putting figures on the table instead of just highlight reel sprints down the wing over and over. Even in this star performance... I didn't watch it, but I checked the stats, and he didn't do anything well statistically.
But the football world and their evaluations say otherwise.
For some reason Broja who hasn't proven anything and has bad stats still manages to play at the highest level, the best league in the world while Myrto who has proven so much, scored so many goals is stuck in the second division at the prime of his career...
It doesn't add up... maybe it's not all about stats after all

He isn't playing at the highest level though, he has spent the best part of 2 years sitting on the bench for mid table clubs.
There are plenty of crap players on low wages sitting on bench for clubs like Everton, it doesn't mean anything. For Everton they don't lose anything taking a punt on him, he has low wages and its a loan, so it isn't a problem for them if he fails, its not really an indicator he is some brilliant talent.

Honestly that makes it way more impressive.
The fact that he has been missing for years and STILL being valued as a premier league player is very telling. They could've easily dumped him to a random Championship team or something but these prem teams just refuse to give up on Broja. His talent is valued very highly.
Uzuni would be lucky to even play in the Championship (a league much stronger than 2nd division Spain). We saw what happened to Manaj there and that's another great scorer with great stats.

I address this in the second part of my answer. Everton haven't made a strong commitment on him, his wages are cheap and its a loan. They have no risk if it goes wrong so they are just taking a punt on him.
If he was signed for a big fee then I would take your point but its not like Everton risked anything to sign him, on their side its just a punt which top division clubs do all the time. Broja was clearly out of Chelsea's plans for a while now so if a team had come in with a decent bid they would have accepted.
Manaj didn't play enough to determine if he failed at Watford. He scored 1 goal in 180 minutes and then was injured for over a year which led to them releasing him. It is my view that if he had not been injured for so long he would have put up a respectable tally there. There is also something to be said about his improvement ; 26 goals in 45 appearances for Sivasspor is no joke.
We also have a reference point for Uzuni in LaLiga where he recorded 11 goals last season, including a double against Real Sociedad. He has proven to be competent to play in LaLiga so I doubt he would be lucky to play in the Championship.

I don't believe playing in the premier league is as easy and casual as you make it out to be. Broja gets minutes every time he comes from a long injury. Teams are clearly interested in him. Chelsea signed him to a long contact. It's just injuries and fitness the main issue with him.
Looks like those 11 goals by Uzuni didn't impress a soul because no team was willing to pay a few million to keep him in La Liga. So now at the peak of his career, at 29, he plays against teenagers in a second division.... Uzuni's 11 goals were so underwhelming that Sylvinho didn't even take him to the Euros as a reserve player.

That 10 minute Broja cameo was impressive.
To say he's light years better than all other Albanian strikers combined is an understatement.
The fact that this is even up for debate is insane.

Broja has scored key goals for our NT. His injury issues have set him back. Uzuni has NEVER scored key goals for us.
His only official goals are against San Marino and a Nations League against Israel. And he's almost 30. What the f*** are we talking about?

It isn't easy per se but I also don't think that merely being loaned by Everton means he is a hot property in football. Premier League teams are interested in trying him out, yes, but until now, teams want to try him out first before making the commitment to buy him because he hasn't got enough proof to his name yet.
It's clear that he has top class athleticism and good takeon skills but his game is very raw, he has some holes that haven't been filled yet.
Of course he should always start for Albania, whether its striker or on the wing (I personally feel he is more effective on the wing).
If the frontline could be Hoxha-Uzuni-Broja or some variation of it we would have actual serious pace and be a huge threat in behind against big teams. I hope when Broja returns Sylvinho will try this front line.
San Marino 2x, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Andorra, Belarus, Kazakhstan.
Do you see the pattern with strikers like him, Uzuni, Cikalleshi, etc only scoring against these kind of opponents? It's because that's their club level as well. Basically it's all second division level so when they play against the Moldovas they are in their comfort zone.
No matter what anybody says, your club level always translates to the NT. Players play exactly how their club level situation is.
