There are 23 players who are part of group, only 11 will start and maybe 4 other guys might get minutes if Sylvinho decides. It's obvious players who won't get minutes they won't be happy and part of job is also to manage unhappy players and keep harmony within group. So for me Abrashi call up makes sense most especially after Gjasula retired from national team guys like him and Laci are more than necessary for manager to manage group and have high intensity training games. Sylvinho has been judged for leaving out Cikaleshi, Uzuni, Bare, Muci but we don't really know what happens before and after matches, how is their behaviour and reaction after they get benched. We will find out only if any insider writes book or tells when isn't anymore relevant. Abrashi has embraced his role, he knows that won't get minutes but he is more than happy and proud to contribute for national team.

I get Abrashi has been a good contributor to Albania and is called up for his senior figure role in the locker room, however we have a lot of talents coming up in his position now. Abrashi is 34, which is usually the age players retire from the NT, unless they are still performing at a high level or irreplaceable. We have Xhimshiti, Ajeti and Hysaj who are above 30 and can do that senior figure role Abrashi has. For dcm or cm role, we currently have Asllani, Ramadani, Laci, Medon Berisha and Pajaziti, that's 5 mids without even including the likes of Bare, Selahi, Fetai and potentially Luis Hasa. So for me it makes more sense to drop Abrashi now, free up a spot and prep the next gen for the upcoming WC/Euro cycles. There is also talk of a new dcm that FSHF is looking to recruit Sefer Emini, I don't know if the guy is any good but clearly the mid position is saturated at this point, Abrashi should just retire with honor like Gjasula did.

So for him to make it to professional levels he must compensate by having out of this world technique.
They called him the "new Modric", but Modric is one of the best footballers of all time lol.

They are calling him ugly in a very polite way.

Pajaziti is very interesting..

8 goals, 3 assists in 1077 minutes (13 caps) for u21.

3 game winners against Switzerland, Romania and Azerbaijan!

All coming from the midfield!

Guys who tear it up like this for u21 usually go on to have great NT careers!

Anything noteworthy he's done in pro football?

Nope. He's gonna be 22 next month but has only shown to be a youth league player.

Failed loan spell in Norwegian league.

Bad in preseason for Fullham and eventually kicked out.

0 goals and assists in Croatian league for NK Gorica so far.

He's just another slow, unathletic #10.

Foolish to write him off so soon..

Absolutely tore it up for u21 scoring goals and dishing out assists at a level only players like Roshi and Sadiku have been able to replicate in recent memory.

And you can be sure that Greece went into that match thinking that they are better than England!
