Berisha is going to be the captain and starting gk tomorrow.

This is a big mistake by them and it's turning into a Bekim Balaj situation. Berisha is a Serie B caliber gk who although signed for Torino is a back-up there. Shaky, nervous, horrible with the ball in his feet, holds the ball instead of starting quick counter attacks.

Strakosha who although is not Lazio material might be low/mid level Serie A material. He's simply superior to Berisha with better reflexes and with the ball on his feet. And the irony is that Lazio literally got rid of Berisha because of Strakosha lol.

Bad move. Strakosha should be starting.

Berisha was a starter at his club last year and logged over 2500 minutes including playing time with Albania.

Strakosha was leaking like sieve at Lazio, before losing the job to a washed up 40 year old. Golden boy hardly accumulated over 1000 minutes in all competitions over the course of the season.

Both keepers are prone to making errors but it is clear who deserves to start. Earned not given!

What the f*** are you talking about? No he wasn't. The guy got them the victory vs. Dortmund, which was Lazio's biggest win of the year. Reina got over him when he was out because of COVID.

And it's tough because besides his age Reina is still really really good and still world class with the ball on his feet. Lazio fans are happy with him and they are generally very critical of their players. Sarri also knows him from Napoli so can't see Strakosha challenging him much.

Right now Berisha is getting benched by some random Serbian gk who's not even a Serbia international. Yes last year he was playing but it was serie B which is his level.

We have tendency on this site to take the lowest level possible our players have played at out of context and say it is their level.

Strakosha is not 'low Serie A level' and Berisha is not 'Serie B level',

Strakosha had been playing well and was benched when he had a long layoff because of COVID. Not his fault.

Berisha played for SPAL to get them promoted and was on one of the highest wages in the team and moved after a year when they didn't get promoted.

Strakosha ate 1.56 goals per 90 minutes in Serie A last season.

Team success in comparison:
Reina 18-3-8 through 29 starts
Daddy Boy 3-2-4 through 9 starts

Berisha was leaking goals left and right for SPAL and was a big reason why they got relegated. Now he's a back-up for a mid/bottom Serie a team so you do the math.

Samir Ujkani also just signed with Empoli to be their back-up. Are you saying with a straight face that Samir Ujkani is a Serie A level gk?

We need to judge players based on what they have accomplished/proven so far. We all want them to be high level but wishful thinking is not reality.
