They destroyed Albania with pace and technique which was the initial fear. Their press was so effective because they were too quick. That's why they won the midfield battle.

Them having a 4v3 counter attack while you're up 1-0 is the most ridiculous thing ever.
Albania had the shortest, quickest team out on the pitch though..

Is it finally clear to you now that fielding a bunch of midgets is a bad move for us?

And yet it was 1-0 after half time and Albania should've won if they didn't underestimate their opponent.

Albania's demise was more mental and tactical based than anything physical or height related. Balliu going full out attack while you have a 1-0 lead....? You have no business getting caught on the counter.

It’s not a Balliu thing , it’s a Reja thing. This 532 isn’t compact at all, notice how teams rarely have a problem opening us up. It’s too easy .

It’s not a Balliu thing but a Reja thing. This 532 isn’t compact at all and teams never find it hard to break it down. It’s the opposite of modern football .

Balliu is a wingback. He's expected to be. The issue was Ismajli was in no man's land.

This. Balliu in our system is expected to go forward and we should encourage him to go as forward as possible to give us width. The benefits of playing a three man backline is that the center backs should give ample coverage and allow us to play higher up. Asllani also has some blame as he was caught off too.

I think Asllani had come off but the entire system is open , players carrying a ridiculous amount of space between them, not compact which makes us easy to open up even with 3 CBs
