Albania just needs him to be a good judge of talent. If he plays and calls up the best players then it's whatever...

Don't forget that coaching a club is different than coaching a NT. Tactics and details like that are irrelevant in the international game. Just put the best team out there and if they win they win.

Reja is historically a great coach but he's a club coach not NT. That kind of overthinking and dumb shit he was doing was more harmful than good at international level. Sylvinho just has to keep it simple.

Tactics matter even more in internationals because you don't have the team chemistry you get in clubs.

One of the major differences between international and club football is in international football how the team gels matter way more. In club football, individual quality is 95% of the ball game, because these players play day in and out with each other.

That's one of the reasons upsets happen way more often at the international level.

Why not give the position to an Albanian then? Reja was never a great coach, come on now!

See: Morocco for a perfect example of this

^ That's because Morocco has the perfect squad to bunker and counter attack. Strong defenders, strong/technical midfield and super fast/technical wingers. They are a dream "underdog" squad because they have all ingredients. Their coach didn't do magic. He just played it simple and to their strengths.

It's the opposite of Reja who for 3+ years played a wingback formation with NO wingbacks lmao. That's why I'm saying Albania just needs him to be a good selector who keeps it simple.

Squad selection should get us to perform on par with our talent, and not lose to teams like Georgia or Israel.

Unfortunately with Broja out, we are a clear 3rd in this group. If we want to qualify we need to outsmart them tactically, which I'm not sure can happen.

I don’t mind the hire and I think anyone will be an upgrade over Reja who is probably the worst manager I’ve seen for Albania.

As long as this manager doesn’t become a yes man for FSHF and allow them to influence his lineup selections he should be okay. If he’s smart enough to remove the amateurs in the lineup and understand the basic concepts of having team balance he will get results.

It will suck not having a competent forward but atleast he will have some competent defenders and midfielders. More than any manager pre Reja could have asked for

Apparently he'll live in Albania. If that's true that then it's a positive for sure. Yes the Albanian league is amateurish but who knows maybe there is a hidden Uzuni in there. The Alb leaguers did show good signs in the Armenia friendly. Also motivates them to work harder if they know he's watching.

Sylvinho is young so he should be motivated at least.

Losers like Salihi and Bulku need to be gone too.

Bulku is the only Albanian NT coach in history with a 100% win rate and 0 goals conceded.
