This one is on the manager and an awful display from Silivinho. Smaller teams usually tend to play with alot of pressure and aggressiveness against bigger clubs in these tournaments. Albania at times during the qualifying has shown to press defensively and to play with character defensively. Yesterday they were defending a 2-1 deficit from the 20th minute and just sat while Italy was doing what they want. The few times we did get the ball Ramadani and Asllani were so overwhelmed because there was no spacing.

So many things that looked off. Why was Seferi dropping back as a left back making it a back 5? Why wasn't Mitaj able to get past midfield until the last few minutes?Yesterday looked like Edi Reja's Albania. It looked like they were given instruction to just sit back and not play aggressive. They were given a golden chance to get atleast a point and given them a decent chance to qualify to the knockouts but fumbled it. They're going to get absolutely destroyed by Spain.

Look how Poland is pressing the Dutch. No one in year 2024 plays like Albania did yesterday. Just sitting back in your box and praying that they lose the ball on their own.

The game was 100% on Sylvinho. It was a continuation of the Chile and Sweden friendlies. And he played the same tactics, the same players who we all knew would be unplayable, weak mentality and approach. Only back passing.

Hard to maintain pressing game with a bunch of out of shape benchwarmers.

There was a HUGE adrenaline dump after our first goal and we were just flat from then on. The players did not expect to jump out in front that early and didn’t know how to react. A lack of experience in big tourneys comes into play here. This is the first rodeo for a majority of these boys..

A small nation like Albania, everyone starting from striker must give 110% defensively. Broja levizte sikur e kishe mar aty me zor. Ku ishte ndergjegja dhe pergjegjesia ndaj 50 mije tifoze qe kishin udhetuar nga cdo cep i botes per te qene aty prane? Ste ka borxh njeri shoku, dil ne fushe dhe mos kurse as nji pike djerse per ate fanelle!

Broja has definitely been a huge disappointment. I understand offensively he can’t do much if we’re getting out possessed 80-20 but he might be the laziest player I’ve seen play for us.

Sad part is he has all the physical tools (size, speed) to put them in real difficulty..

Handful of times he did decide to press certainly gave them problems. He can close the distance and get in on you really fast but instead chooses to sit there waiting for the ball to fall at his feet.

Come on lad! I don’t want to bring you down but that was pathetic last night! We know you have unreal talent and your conditioning is not fully there, but something else is missing inside too..

Wtf is Broja supposed to do with Seferi/Asani feeding him? At least Italy got 2 yellows trying to stop him. But he was on his own. Can't expect him to dribble the defending champs.

Even in terms of pressing, let's not forget he's just recovering from a fucked up injury. He shouldn't go out 100%.

Super professional Hysaj out there playing dodgeball! Who needs to get in the way of a shot when you have already made billions of dollars in your career? Balliu is a no brainer over him..

Ajeti is not the same player as he was in 2016. Easy to say in hindsight but Ismajli should have started ahead of him.
That was pathetic from Hysaj, but I thought Ajeti was very good. Made some crucial interceptions. None of the goals had anything to do with him.

Goal #1 came from Bastoni drifting to the wings and Seferi was marking him. Goal #2 was a rebound from Asani/DiMarco that Barella shot from long distance and Hysaj dodged.

Effort problems existed before the injury too. This is not new, it has been an issue since day 1..

I love Broja as much as anyone but his performance was shameful!

Also, let's keep in mind...

and we've got the worst draw of it.

Kept the ball for far to long whenever he got it, probably has to do with him not trusting Asani and Seferi. Someone mentioned that starting Daku would've maybe been smarter, through Broja in the 2nd half against tired legs.
