Ofc it can be done again, Albania has a good team and the first place could've been achieved in the NT league too. Players that weren't at the level to start a year ago have clearly improved and are now better than the starters of that time, take for example Ismajli, Balliu, Muçi, Hoxha, Uzuni, Manaj... I'd call Bare back too. It's on Sylvinho to see these things and put the best team out there.

Albania has a good team but not better than the likes of Czechia and Ukraine who were favoured to beat us even in Tirana..

Czechia and Ukraine have strong domestic leagues that they rely on heavily to supply talent for the NT. Players are in great physical shape and there is plenty of options to chose from.

Realistically, Albania was competing with Georgia for 3rd place but came up short..

Campaign was not all that bad.

Went in as underdogs and came back to beat Ukraine in Prague. Beat Georgia in Tbilisi. Took a point off group winner Czechia..

A few unlucky moments cost us the third spot..

Lucky goal by Georgia in Tirana. Georgia getting lucky with penalty to open up Czechia and get a good GD. Georgia equalizing with late goal at Ukraine..

I am just depressed to be going back to group C.

What's amazing about Albania's bunker tactics is how passive players are defensively. If you play that defensive at the very least you need to be aggressive. Press the opponent, foul them, kick their legs once in a while. Albanians play defense like soft ballerinas.

Especially when you lack speed and athleticism defensively like Albanians do, you need to compensate.

The issue is the lack of goals. We had 3 goals from open play in 6 games. Every other team scored way more than us.



Our defence is our best department (tied for least goals conceded in the group), but even they let us down in critical moments like with Czech Republic and Ukraine.

I feel Silvinjo is to blame for this failed campaign. Played Bajrami out of position, didn't give Muci and Hoxha enough minutes, sticks to Seferi and Asani like glue when they clearly are inferior to Muci and Hoxha. Also we struggle in midfield a lot with both Laci and Ramadani at the same time, little creativity and the midfield was more balanced with Bajrami at acm, which would have opened up space for Muci and Hoxha to play left wing. We need new blood in March '25, hoping for Ramaj, Anthony Caci and Hasa to come play for us, maybe even Gruda, which will provide upgrades to current players. Integrate Medon Berisha and Pajaziti too and I feel we'd have a good team perfect for the 4-2-3-1 to try qualify for the world cup.

That is the one thing that frustrates me to no end. We're not aggressive at all. It was very apparent against the Italy game where the only starter that got a yellow was Broja. Calafiori elbowed Broja while our team was fawning over the Italians.
