What cost you qualification is only having 1 shot on target in 90 minutes and never looking like scoring in a must win game at home.

What cost you is benching all your attackers and in general opting for relationships over meritocracy.
We had Poland right where we wanted them..

Tie game late in front of 22k supporters and Broja subbed on ready to make the difference. Carbon copy of both wins against Hungary, minus the full stadium in our advantage.

What a shame that the super professional Hysaj gave them the 3 points on a plate, along with our hopes of qualification!

Had it not been for the super professional Hysaj, the dream of qualification is still alive today!

Poland was going to score sooner or later and it seemed like we were never gonna score. First shot on target came from Broja after 90 minutes or so...

Exactly. They were always going to score but that's actually normal. Even the best teams and defenses in the world concede goals regularly. Expecting clean sheets in every game, especially against quality opponents is not only silly but extremely unrealistic. Playing for a 0-0 so you can "steal" a win in the last 10 minutes of the game is the most inferior and unheard of strategy ever.

That's why sometimes the only way to win is by outscoring them.

Look at Sheriff Tiraspol against Real Madrid. To beat them they had to constantly counter attack them and keep them on their heels. They were rewarded with 2 goals and a win. You're not gonna keep a Real Madrid to a clean sheet. Your only hope is to shock them offensively.

Hysaj straight to bench for Doka. Selmani the new starting Goal Keeper. Ramadani, Laci and Cekici the new midfield trio. Cikaleshi the captain and starting until the age of 38

Princ is just trolling. He knows Reja is directly responsible for shattering Albania's dreams for qualification.

Briegel beat Russia and Euro Champs Greece.

De Biasi beat Portugal and France.

Reja (with the most talented Albanian squad ever) only beat Hungary... and that's thanks to Broja doing it for him literally.

But Reja is going to get credit for having the most points ever even though it's because we had both San Marino and Andorra in the same group for the first time in history. That's automatic 12 points.

This. Reja was lucky to have such a weak Nations League qualifying group that we barely got out of against the likes of Lithuania, Belarus and Kazakhstan. That victory against Belarus gave the team such false hope that we "won" our division and allowed his incompetency for another year. Gave lifelines to incompetent players like Manaj, Trashi, Cikaleshi, etc.

The only professional teams we've beaten under Reja have been Hungary and Iceland (after losing the first match). We beat Iceland 4-2 and in the next match against Turkey in a must win for hope to qualify to the Euros, Reja goes completely defensive and plays with Veseli as a wingback, the corpse of Memushaj in the midfield, Cikaleshi and Manaj at forward. We played four center backs against Turkey lol (even if Veseli did have a decent game at wingback)

I get playing defensive if you don't have the talent like what Di Biasi had to do but benching professional players for scrubs is unacceptable. Also playing for draws when you clearly need three points is madness to.

We shit on Veseli a lot (I was last week) and I checked his transfermarkt and was shocked to find he played 3000 minutes for Empoli in the Serie A last season. That's nearly every single game. I can't believe it remembering how he has played with the NT but he did. No minutes this season with Salernitana but still.

I think we are slowly breaking that inferiority complex we built under DB and Panucci but it will take time and there are still some players that have it that are from that era like Veseli and have mentality problems when they play for the NT, even if their club career isn't that bad. Realise all the new players who never played under DB (Broja, Kumbulla, Ismajli etc) are our best ones. Granted they still are very talented players but it's something worth noting. The worst performers during this campaign have been guys from the DB era and that includes guys like Hysaj who have the talent but aren't doing their best.
