Bajrami is so frustrating to watch. He contributed directly to those last 2 goals and that assist was brilliant. Coach benched him for a reason.

You know he has talent, but he just likes to nap during most of the game. So many Albos have that "napping" syndrome. Broja included.

Strakosha handballing outside gk area (you don’t see that even in third division). Hopefully Kastrati or some youth gk like Simoni will replace him and Berisha soon.

Just seen that hahaha, pure instinct but I doubt we'll see someone replace them for the next 5 years at least. Plus they are both good keepers

As frustrating as Strakosha and Berisha are, you just can't trust Albania league products.

There were scouts from Serie A to watch Simoni against Teuta. Still plenty of primavera and youth gk coming through.

Iran conceded only 2 goals in 3 games at the last World Cup with Spain, Portugal and Morocco in the group.

GK was from Persepolis, and he saved CR7 penalty too..

The problem is the development at grassroots level. Yeah he's 17 now but between ages 9-17 he learned to play the wrong way. The bad habits, bad mentality, etc... You can't just change your roots when you move abroad although it helps a little.

I understand the point but he still has so much time to improve. Keepers peak at what around 26+? , there are plenty of great examples of guys from Africa, the balkans who have moved overseas at his age or later and developed.

That is true but the exception is normally for the Goal Keeping position. It's a position that doesn't need intense technical or physical developments and many good goalies have come from countries that have had historically bad player development. It's the easiest position to produce. In the 2000s it seemed like the United States was producing many premier league goalies despite the youth development in the US being poor at that time.
