You can't be serious... Football is becoming more and more about system players. Good luck finding players like Maradona or Maldini today.

The reason why communist countries did better is 100% because of closed border policies. Now they all leave.

You think Maradona would be able to dribble past 8 players today?? He would get man handled in all top leagues. Back then teams/players were naive tactically and super weak physically. Now everything is more advanced. Yes it's more robotic but that's thanks to decades of researching and figuring out what's better. Claiming a sport was better "back then" is retarded.

It's not about better or worse. That's a team thing. Like I said, it's all about systems now. Look at Germany/Spain.

I laugh at the fact that you think Maradona would struggle against Harry Maguire or something. Look at his technique.

The reality is kids lived and breathed football back then. Now they're playing FIFA more than actually training.

What the f*** you talking about?

Kids from 4/5 practically training like pros in academys. I have little cousins in some in academies and you wouldn't believe the discipline these lot have. Back in the day pros were drinking heavy and smoking before games. Sounding like a senile old man talking about games.

Maradona would not be isolated 1v1 against Harry Maguire often. That's the point. Harry would have a lot of help/cover against him. Back then players like Harry would be left on an island against Maradona. Not anymore.

Everything is 100% more professional now. From tactics, to fitness, diet, analytics and everything. It's a natural evolvement.

No players don’t go to the pub to get hammered before game days. And no they don’t smoke during the season. Loads use snus which is like what those baseball players use , chewing tobacco.

They’re much more disciplined, most come back from holidays in top shape. It’s a different era.

So how do you explain Arijanet Muric showing up drunk to practice, few days before the game?

Oh please. Like you knew what the f*** 4 or 5 year olds were doing pre-digital era. Look at Messi back in the early 90s as a kid.

Look at the trio of Xavi-Iniesta-Messi. No one comes even close to that level of ball control/technique nowadays. They outright dominated top teams and made them look like scrubs.

I think you need a reality check. Players are partying more than they're training.

You’re genuinely clueless. I know for a fact academies were not this advanced in the 90s and even 00s . It’s gone up another level.

Xavi iniesta and Messi were in the era of professional modern football bozo
