Across all North American competitions (2023)
Vrioni - 8 goals in 898 minutes, goal every 112’
Insigne - 4 goals in 1158 minutes, goal every 290’
Bernardeschi - 3 goals in 1868 minutes, goal every 623’
Jack the Ripper has more goals this season than superstars Insigne and Bernardeschi combined, in a fraction of the playing time. Starting to hit his groove playing for a great team like New England Revolution.

The Revs are also sitting second in the East right now and Toronto are second from the bottom. Insigne and Bernardeschi are in Toronto to collect a paycheck, they're already retired.Princ wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 10:18 pm Across all North American competitions (2023)

Toronto blew tons of cash on the Italians hoping to jump back into the playoff picture. So far, they have been a huge disappointment.
Insigne went from tearing up Serie A (multiple
time top 10 scoring list) to straight up BUST. North American game too fast, too physical for many of these European players.

yeah man the MLS is too physical for the best players in the world. Give me a break.Princ wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 12:26 amToronto blew tons of cash on the Italians hoping to jump back into the playoff picture. So far, they have been a huge disappointment.

It's not matter of speed or physicality or anything like that but it is definitely lack of motivation. What they have to prove on MLS? MLS is good league for players who were absolutely nobodies on the european football, they have motivation to do well and to earn bigger paycheck but Insigne and Bernardeschi are european champions. Probably only regret they have they moved to early to retiring league as MLS and now Saudi train is gone. Format of MLS doesn't help, it is so weird and shit for european player, it seems only Albania will make even worse format of league.

The MLS has improved significantly over the years and it’s evident with the players it has been producing. But that being said the competition has been watered down with the league expanding rapidly and with the salary cap structure. it has a lot of parity and a league that can be very too heavy with top talent and then players who are borderline amateurs. You can have a team that has 3-4 players that are national team players and players good enough for Europa League teams than you can have 3-4 players who make $100k a year and borderline amateur. It’s a strange league and you really can’t take results too seriously there.
As for the Italians a few years back a old Giovinco who was a bench player in Italy absolutely dominated the MLS. I’ve seen random guys tear it up for them to absolutely flop in second division teams in Europe or just disappear.
I can’t rate Vrioni because he doesn’t past the eye test. Scoring some easy tap ins from a few meters away doesn’t mean he’s a good player. That won’t work against good competition. He’s no different than Balaj or Cikaleshi.

Don't know where the "MLS is physical" myth came from. Maybe because it's American and Americans are usually the best athletes so people assume MLS is that way but the MLS is dominated by tiny Mexicans and South Americans. That's who plays this sport in USA along with European immigrants. It's definitely not physical at all lol

Been following MLS since its inception and it started with the ageing Euro stars complaining about it. The US team has been historically considered more physical than technical so that also helped shape this perception.Dallku wrote: ↑Wed Aug 02, 2023 5:48 pm Don't know where the "MLS is physical" myth came from. Of course it's physical for them when they are 35+
They are trying to cope by saying it's a physical league. No it's your body telling you that you're finished...
Did you see Messi's debut and see the space he had to jog to the goal every time?? lmao

him and busquets playing at half speed making it look like the joke of a league it is.
Zlatan went in his mid 30s and made them look foolish too. You have guys like Vela who used to play for Arsenal 10+ years ago still bagging loads, it’s always been a retirement league.
